Liam's eyes widened, and he immediately tensed. "What is he doing here?" he muttered, moving closer to the window to get a better look.
"Who's Maximus?" Kira asked, her eyes darting between Astrid and Liam.
"He's the alpha wolf Lyra was supposed to marry," Astrid explained, her voice tight. "But she eloped with Liam instead. Maximus didn't take it well. The last time we saw him, he injured Liam."
