Two Mates

Chapter 2

Kiro's P.O.V

    I opened my eyes to be greeted with a dark room. This room was nothing like my own. The bed was rough, unlike my soft sheets. The walls were painted white, not the dark blue I was used to. The curtains were closed too, but I always kept my windows open. After processing my environment, I felt myself whine. I wasn't home. This meant that last night wasn't a dream. It was all real. I looked to my left hand, my dominant hand, and saw none of the alpha markings, instead only seeing a black marking of an omega. Wait. When did I become an Omega?

    "When my pack accepted you as one of our own," a feminine voice came from my right, and I launched up, reaching for my waist only to find my normal knife gone. How had she known what I was thinking? I must've mumbled it out loud.

    "Who are you?" I growled, keeping as much distance from her as possible. From the purple mark on her cheek, she was definitely a Luna. She had long black hair that was braided down her back and contrasted her white skin in a beautiful manner. Her eyes were a striking green, but they were also terrifying.

    "I'm Cassidy. Your new Luna. You will address me with respect, especially after killing my husband," Cassidy said as she stepped closer and I felt myself back into a wall. 

    "Your husband?" I felt my eyes narrow. Her husband had to be the alpha, which means I had killed him. "Why was your husband trespassing on our lands?" 

    "Why did you kill him?" Cassidy countered, and I held my hand to my head as pain seared through it. What had happened that night? Wait, what day was it? 

    "How long have I been out?" I asked, feeling my head hurt more. I couldn't remember anything except seeing my pack die. Who was her husband? Why did I kill him?

    "Almost a week now. Our resident witch said you were lucky he got to you when he did. Now, why did you kill my husband?" Cassidy wasn't going to drop the subject, so I cried out in pain when I was suddenly slammed into the wall by her. 

    "I... I don't know!" I answered honestly, grabbing her hand which was wrapped tightly around my throat. 

    "Fine. When you do know, we'll decide what to do with you. For now, you're our omega, so you better behave and do as we ask. You're ours to do as we please with," Cassidy growled as she harshly dropped me onto the floor, and I felt the pain in my head fade as I stopped focusing on last night. 

    "Y-yes, Luna," I replied, my wolf growling. He hated how submissive we were being. But we didn't have a choice. 

    "Good. Your first job is to come with me. I have pack things I have to handle, so you get to come with and see the way we handle things here. Now get dressed and meet me downstairs in ten. The dresser should have some clothes that fit you," Cassidy slammed the door behind her, and I felt my heart drop. This was really happening. Why was I here? I could only hold back my tears as I got dressed. If I was here, I suppose I might as well obey. Fighting would only cause me more suffering.

Jona's P.O.V

    I could smell him. My mate. How did I know it was a boy? Well, I've known I've been gay for a long time. I guess it was no surprise. But where was he? Why was his scent so strong here? I was only here to make a deal and go home, but if he is one of them, I may have to make more than one deal. 

    "Jona! You haven't been listening to one word I've been saying!" My beta, Hailey said as she crossed her arms. I had known Hailey since birth. back when she wore braces and her ginger hair used to be so frizzy it made her mad just trying to fix it. At first, our parents had hoped we would become mates, but seeing how good Hailey and I were when we worked together, they knew we would become the alpha and beta, and when our markings appeared, we were thrown into training together. Now, Hailey wore contacts to make her green eyes look blue, and she was already mated to my little sister, Kiley, who absolutely adored Hailey, 

    "We need to make more than one exchange while we're here," I muttered as I stared at the door, waiting for the alpha to enter. We had done more than one agreement with him, but I hadn't picked up on any scent all morning other than the scent of pines and cinnamon, which I knew to be my mate. I could feel our pull, and I was almost positive he could feel mine. 

    "What do you..." Hailey trailed off as she studied my face and then a smirk made its way onto hers. "You found her, didn't you? Eee! I'm so happy, you can feel your mate, Jona, this is amazing! We need to set up the ceremony then!" 

    "Not now Hailey, we need to make sure its one of the wolves here first. Where is Derek, he was supposed to be here five minutes ago?" I felt myself getting more anxious as I could feel the pull getting closer and closer until it was just outside the door. 

    "Wait here," a voice commanded. Wait, that was Cassidy's voice. Where was Derek? 

    The door opened and I caught a glimpse of someone outside, but I couldn't see them completely as Cassidy closed the door behind her.    

    "Forgive me for being late. Derek passed away last night and I've been tending to things all morning. Let's review the terms before signing, shall we?" Cassidy was as stick-shoved-up-her-ass formal as ever. 

    "I'm sorry for your loss Cassidy. Let's get this done with so you can mourn in peace," Hailey said, gently touching Cassidy's hand on the papers as a form of comfort. Cassidy gave a pained smile as her eyes watered and she pushed the papers forward. 

    "Now, we agreed to the four soldiers in exchange for four hundred dollars, is that correct?" Cassidy asked as she looked to the paper and I saw one tear fall down her cheek. 

    "Yes," I nodded as she looked down. 

    "O-oh. All of the soldiers you requested died last night as well," Cassidy looked as if she was just punched in the gut. 'I can't afford everything without that four hundred, but I can't give you guys what you need,' She linked to me as more tears fell down her cheek. 

    "It's okay. We can change the terms. I'll give you the four hundred in exchange for my mate," I said, before motioning towards the door. Cassidy quickly wiped her tears and stood up, opening the door. 

    "Get in here," she growled at the wolf outside. I felt fear and sadness and pain flash through me from my mate. He wasn't happy. 

    "H-hello," he waved shyly as he refused to look up. He had an omega marking on his hand, and I could only study him without a word. He had short, sandy blonde hair that barely covered his eyes and his eyes were such a beautiful brown that stood out with his tan skin. 

    "H-hi," I muttered as I took in his scent. Goddess, he smelled amazing. 

    "You wanted me in here?" He turned and addressed Cassidy, his voice hollow-sounding. Why did he sound so unhappy? What happened?

    "Your mate wanted to trade you. You now belong to the Blood Fire pack now. Go to him," Cassidy said, pushing the omega towards me. My heart began to race as he stopped right in front of me before narrowing his eyes as I felt his hatred towards me. Then I realized where he came from.

    "Starlight?" I asked as I held my hand out for him to shake. 

    "That's alpha of Starlight to you. I'll never go with this war monster!" He said as he turned to glare at Cassidy. 

    "Your opinion matters little to me. You're going to go with him because you are now his slave," Cassidy said, before crossing out the soldiers on the agreement and rewriting his name. Kiro. 

    "Here's what we agreed to then," I replied, holding out the money as Hailey signed next to Cassidy's name. Cassidy grabbed the money from my hands and I grabbed Kiro's hand, pulling him to my chest. "You're mine now. So don't bother fighting," I growled possessively, watching his eyes light up with fear. I felt bad for enjoying the look on his face.

    "I'll fight till my last breath," he growled in response, and I merely chuckled. He was too cute to let go.
