Chapter 19: The Tape Adrian was still holding the cassette when Victor spoke. "We'll need an old cassette player," he said. "Nobody makes these anymore." Mrs. Brooks, passing through with a tray of tea, paused in the doorway. "There might still be one in the attic," she said. "Your father kept everything up there, Adrian. Never once let me throw a single box away." "I'll help look," I offered. The attic hadn't been touched in years, dust thick over stacks of boxes and old furniture draped in white sheets.
