Silence filled Adrian's study after Victor's revelation. "If Daniel recorded that tape three months ago," I asked, "then where has he been for fifteen years?"

"The tape might still hold forensic evidence," Victor said. "Fingerprints, residue, something modern equipment could pull that wasn't visible before."
"Send it to the lab," Adrian said. "Immediately."
