Chapter 28: The Photograph Ethan drove faster than he should have, the dark road blurring past the windows as the photograph replayed itself over and over in his mind. He wasn't thinking about winning Amelia back anymore. That thought had vanished somewhere between his study and the driveway, replaced by something far colder. He was terrified. The manor's gates came into view, and he barely slowed before turning through them, gravel spraying beneath his tires as he pulled up too close to the front steps. He didn't bother knocking.
