Evelyn POV Harrison entered my penthouse like a man walking into battle. His face was dark and unreadable, his shoulders stiff with tension. I watched him carefully from my spot on the couch, the unease from the mysterious messages still lingering in the back of my mind. But I couldn’t let him see my doubt. Not now. Not when everything was so precariously balanced. I forced a warm smile, standing to greet him. “Harrison,” I said softly, stepping closer. He didn’t respond immediately, his sharp eyes scanning my face. I could see the weight of something pressing down on him, but I wasn’t sure what.
