“He suggested an evening’s excursion to Vauxhall,” Julia said, leaning forward in her excitement. “Vauxhall?” Sara shook her head. “I don’t know what that is.” “Oh! It’s only the most wonderful pleasure garden. There is dancing and they serve dinner and there are romantic garden paths to walk along as well.” Her eyes positively lit up as she spoke. “It does sound lovely,” Sara said, trying to hold back her laughter at her friend’s enthusiasm. “I believe Lord Merrick intends on making quite a party of it, inviting Lord and Lady Huntley, Fungy, me, you, and of course, Lord Reath.” She gave Sara a broad, suggestive smile, having no idea what had transpired between Sara and Lord Reath.
