Chapter Eleven Sara wandered through the empty rooms of her aunt’s town house. A maid was cleaning out the fireplace in the library. Two more were upstairs in her aunt’s room, changing the sheets on the bed. The cook was in the kitchen preparing dinner, and Coddles was in the dining room polishing the silver. She knew exactly where everyone was because she herself was wandering from room to room with absolutely nothing to do. There was no managing necessary. Everyone knew their jobs. In her own home in Philadelphia, it was only she and Abigail doing all the work, so there was constantly something that needed doing.
