1Swimming up from a deep black and dreamless sleep, Luce wakes to a deep chill in the air. She opens her eyes and sits up in bed, rubbing her forearms, feeling the cold on the tip of her nose and earlobes. She looks about the room, which she only vaguely remembers being shown into by Gappa Bale last night after they'd arrived. After John had brought her bags in, exhausted and feeling like stir-fried s**t, she'd barely made it into her pjs before climbing into bed and faceplanting into her pillow. Looking around now, it's quite a big room. Bare white-painted walls, and a decidedly funky carpet that looks like a remnant from the late seventies with its floral pattern design woven in faded creams, oranges and browns.
