BOOK 2: Don´t fall for your rival - Chapter 0

320 Words
I dreamed about you again today. It was harvest season, we were smashing the grapes in that sort of white marble pool from your parents' winery. You were laughing hard, your shy left dimple visible. Your hands were holding your skirt in place, bunched around your thighs. We were covered in splashes of grape juice, peels and seeds. The light was coming inside through the high windows of the shed, creating a halo on your long dark hair, caressing your light olive skin. I was mesmerized by your beauty. I could hear a song playing in the background, that one you were obsessed with. I guess it was "Counting Stars by One Republic". You were dancing, twirling to the beat as you pressed your bare feet into the pool of crushed red grapes. Happiness was spreading through my chest, making me whole again, filling the emptiness that had always remained since the day we split up. And I was not broken anymore. But no matter how hard I tried, little by little, the dream was slipping through my hands. The background music turned mute, the colors were dulling. You were mouthing something that I couldn't hear. I tried in vain to reach you, fighting hard to keep you by my side, but your silhouette faded before I made contact. "Nina!" a scream left my lips. My eyes flashed open, and, in the dark room, I saw my bedroom ceiling. I was back to being alone. With nothing more to keep me company than the memories of you. The memories of us. And that has to be enough. _________________________________________________________________________________________________________ And that's a sneak preview of book 2, the story of Nina.
