"Thanks again for everything, Matt. You were a lifesaver," I said as I finished loading the dishwasher.
"I have something for you," he said, handing me a gift bag as I turned to face him.
"Oh no! I love getting presents, but this is too much!" I felt embarrassed as I took the bag from his hands. Inside, I found a Rangers jersey with Matt’s number on it.
"It’s for the next time you come to watch one of our games. That way, you can cheer properly. But you don’t have to wear it if you don’t want to," he blushed a little as he said that, and it was adorable.
"I’ll wear it, for sure." I folded the shirt and placed it on the kitchen stool. When I tried to throw the bag into the trash bin, he stopped me.
"Wait, there’s something else inside," he informed me.
