When I wake up it is still early in the morning, I can see it from the pale light filtering through the curtains. I stretch and yawn, before looking around and I am surprised to realize that I am alone in the bed … Adriano has not returned.
I get up and wrap a robe around me. Could he be on the couch not to wake me ? I feel a small hope, but it is squashed fast as I search the entire villa … he is not here and everything points to him not having returned at any time during the night.
My mind instantly starts running in circles. Where is he ? And with who ?
“No !” I say out loud to myself, I need to stop those thoughts before they take hold of me … I am sure there is a good explanation, there has to be, right ?
