The atmosphere inside the mansion was tense.
Specioza Tracy stood before the old steel safe hidden behind a painting in Victor's private study. The envelope she had discovered moments earlier felt heavier than it should.
Larvicide Andrils walked into the room, his expression unreadable.
"What did you find?" he asked quietly.
Specioza looked at him for a long moment before handing him the envelope.
"I think this is what everyone has been searching for."
Larvicide carefully opened it.
Inside were several documents, a faded family photograph, and a handwritten letter.
His face slowly lost all color.
"No..." he whispered.
Specioza stepped closer.
"What is it?"
He held up the photograph.
The picture showed his father... standing beside Specioza's late mother years before either of them had met.
"They knew each other."
Specioza's heartbeat quickened.
"That's impossible."
"It isn't."
Larvicide unfolded the letter.
As he read each line, his hands began to tremble.
The letter revealed that years ago both families had worked together to expose a powerful criminal organization. Before they could finish, they were betrayed by someone they trusted.
That betrayal had led to both families being destroyed.
Specioza stared at the page.
"So everything... our meeting... wasn't a coincidence?"
Larvicide shook his head.
"It seems fate has been bringing us together for years."
Before either of them could speak again, the lights in the mansion suddenly went out.
Darkness swallowed the room.

A loud crash echoed downstairs.
Someone had broken into the mansion.
Larvicide immediately pulled Specioza behind him.
"Stay close."
Footsteps echoed through the hallway.
Another crash.
The intruder was getting closer.
Just then, Larvicide's phone buzzed.
A single anonymous message appeared on the screen.
You found the truth... but you're already too late.
