A gasp swept through the ballroom.
Every conversation stopped.
Hundreds of eyes turned toward Specioza Tracy as the words on the giant screen remained frozen for what felt like an eternity.
Whispers spread like wildfire.
"She's pregnant..."
"Isn't she Oliver Lancaster's assistant?"
"So that's the real reason he's been protecting her."
Tracy's hands trembled. Her heart pounded so loudly she could barely hear anything else.
Oliver stepped in front of her, shielding her from the crowd.
"Turn that screen off. Now!" he ordered.
The technicians scrambled, and the image disappeared.
But the damage had already been done.
Vanessa folded her arms, watching the scene with an unreadable expression.
"I didn't do this," she said calmly.
Oliver ignored her. His eyes searched the room instead.
Someone had planned this.
Someone with access to Tracy's private medical records.
Someone who wanted to destroy both of them.
Suddenly, Marcus, Oliver's head of security, hurried over.
"Sir."
"What did you find?"
Marcus lowered his voice.
"The presentation system was hacked from inside the building. Whoever did it knew exactly what file to upload."
Oliver's jaw tightened.
"Lock every exit. No one leaves until we identify the person responsible."
The guests erupted in protest.
"This is outrageous!"
"You can't detain us!"
Before Oliver could respond, Tracy gently touched his arm.
"Please... don't do this because of me."
He turned to her.
"This isn't just about you anymore. Someone violated your privacy. They'll answer for it."
At that moment, Marcus's phone buzzed.
His expression changed as he read the message.
"Sir... we've identified the laptop used for the hack."
"Whose is it?"
Marcus hesitated.
"It belongs to... someone in your own executive team."
Oliver's eyes narrowed.
"The traitor has been sitting beside me all along."
