“And you were cool with just chillin in his house?” Anna asked as she dipped another chip.
The Mexican restaurant we chose to meet at was a branch of one of our favorites. It just so happened there was one close to Xavier’s house, and Anna was willing to drive.
Her large brown curls framed her face. Anna was norther Italian and had the features, big nose, boobs and butt but with a tiny waist. She was much shorter than me, 5’2” but her personality was just as big as mine.
“Mmmmmh” I replied sipping a margarita.
“And he leaves his doors unlocked?” She raised an eyebrow.
“Mmmhmm” I replied again, smiling.
“That’s kinda weird.”
“I am aware. Nor am I a fan. But I feel,” I paused for a second, getting lost in the memories..
“Hello, earth to loser..” Anna snapped her fingers.
“It’s just a really safe place.” I say taking a big bite of guacamole and chip.
“And his d**k game was good?” Anna asked in disbelief.
“Yo.” I nod my head, “it’s a whole other world.”
“Well, remember,” Anna takes another chip and scoops up some salsa.
“I know,” I sigh, “never again.”
“How much older is he?” She asks. Anna isn’t a fan of older men. I love them.
“8 years.” I smile wide sipping the margarita.
“So what’s wrong with him?”
“What do you mean?”
“Never married, no kids? When was his last relationship?” She was asking all the right questions I hadn’t even had time to think of.
“Ummm,” I sat thinking back to conversations, “we don’t really talk about our past when we are together.”
“Oh, ok,” she paused giving me the look, “so you f****d him without a condom but you don’t know his history.”
Oh man. I am such an i***t.
“Can I take your order?” The waiter appeared.
“Yes,” Anna jumped right in, “she will have an order of common sense..”
“Ugh,” I rolled my eyes, “I’ll have the fish tacos,”
After our food came, Anna continued to reprimand me for being irresponsible.
At around 2pm we were done, and I realized I didn’t know where I would go or what I would do until work. I was in close proximity and to drive home just to drive back was a huge waste.
“What are you gonna do now?” Anna asked, she knew my schedule.
Right on que, I get a text.
X: how was your lunch date
A big devious smile crossed my face
Me: just finishing up as we speak.
Anna suddenly interrupted my thoughts. “Ugh,” she sighed, “those guys sitting at the bar are creeping me out. They’ve been staring at us for too long.” She was running her hands together making a face of disgust.
The problem was this is what happened every time Anna and I got together. We are both hot, in different ways, so you can’t help but stare. Today she was wearing a dark floral bodysuit, linen shorts and cute sandals. I’m in ripped jeans and a white t-shirt shell-toe adidas sneakers. We both have our hair and makeup done, and we are loud. Attention is usually on us.
I looked over at the bar area and I see the two men she’s talking about. They look familiar but I’m not positive.
My phone vibrates again, “I know.” The message is from Xavier. I pause for a second, my stomach tightens, then I get another text, “there are two cops at the bar. They played in the golf tournament when I hit you.”
I looked up at Anna from my phone and smiled, “Xavier knows them, they are cops.”
Anna had a big smile, she turned and yelled to them from across the bar, “hope you enjoy your lunch!” And blew them a kiss. I seductively waved to them and we walked out laughing as the two men sat their stunned.
I texted Xavier: We just left
“Wanna go somewhere and smoke a blunt?” Anna asked. I had hours to kill, but since I’m not from the area, I’m not sure where to go.
Xavier replied: Go to my house and relax before work.
This was getting to be too much, no? I mean I’d love to sit outside looking at the lake smoking, but is t it excessive?
I reply: I’m with Anna
Xavier replies quick: so? She’s obviously welcome.
I look up at Anna. “Xavier said to go to his house and hang out.”
She looks at me, “is that weird?”
“I want to say yes, but I don’t feel like it’s weird, is that weird?” I ask and I laugh.
“What time does he get out of work?”
“I’m not sure,” I answer honestly
“Well what does he do for work?”
“I’m not sure,” I answer again.
“And your f****d Jim without a condom!” She yells in the parking lot and people walking by stare. We pay no attention. “He could be a hobo!”
“Clearly” I laugh “he is NOT a hobo.” I open my door to the van, “just follow me,” And before I close my door I warn her, “his driveway is a cunt.”
**
It’s the third time I’m pulling into his driveway and it isn’t easier. We both put our cars in park and Anna starts talking s**t right away.
“I swear to god I almost f*****g ditched you,” she shuts her door hard, “that f*****g driveway,”
“I know.” I reply as we walk up to the house, I can hear Bogey. I let us in and bogey is there to greet me and get his treat l.
“But,” she starts as she looks around, “I see what you mean.”
The afternoon sun doesn’t beat into the house like it does in the morning, but everything was still golden the view straight out to the lake was still stunning and the beautiful blue sky was picturesque.
Anna loved on bogey for a couple minutes, I mean it’s hard not to, he’s so cuddly. Pure bred Boykin spaniel, so a little nub for a take and deep chestnut brown coat what curls. He’s a handsome boy and once he had his fill of treats and attention, he lazily leaves and plops on his dog bed.
“Come on,” I smile, “we’ll go out by the lake.”
We walked out side, down the path and to the wooden platform.
Anna looked around, impressed, “is this real life?”
“I know,” I reply as we sit down, looking out it’s as if we are on top of the water. It’s a little scary, as a mom, that there is no railing and it drops to the rocky shore.
Anna starts lighting the blunt, the summer breeze blows through and the leaves make a rustling sound. “It’s really peaceful here,” she says suddenly.
“I know,” and we sit in silence, something I’m not sure we ever have done. It is just so quiet, and the view is too perfect. We start passing the blunt back and forth and after a solid twenty minutes, I hear Bogey barking my heart beats fast and my stomach tightens.
“Hellooooo,” I hear the deep voice, and my core warms up. Just then, Xavier’s face pops out through the sliding door. His beaming smile is stunning and I catch my breath.
“Holy f*****g hell,” Anna whispers under your breath, “he is fine af.” And I chuckle as Xavier walks towards us.
I don’t think I processed what he was wearing this morning, but his slightly undone white button up that he had rolled the sleeves to mid arm, his gray dress pants, black shoes and belt, oh man he was a f*****g sight for my eyes.
He makes his way down to where we are sitting. Xavier leans down to me and kisses the top of my head. Anna gives me a look.
“Hi,” Xavier reaches out his hand to shake Anna’s, “I’m Xavier,” and Anna reaches out.
“This is Anna,” I finish this awkward interaction.
“Nice to meet you,” she smiles, “you’re home early from work...” Right to it Anna. Couldn’t just wait.
“Well I had a meeting and it finished,” he smiled and turned to me, “plus when you have a beautiful woman at your house...” and he trails off. I blush deeply at his gaze and I’m so turned on.
“True,” Anna replied, “but Tori is here as well,” and the two of us laughed, but Xavier seems confused. “Never mind,” she sighed, “what is it you do for work?”
Xavier’s smile was so cool, “I own my own company that sells insurance to businesses.”
Anna, “sounds like a lot of fun,” she rolled her eyes and I chucked.
Xavier didn’t miss a beat, “it’s why I like to have a lot of fun when I can,” and he winked at me. f*****g s**t I wanted him so bad right now.
“And how long have you lived here?” Anna inquired.
“4 years,” he picked up on her interrogation.
“Tori says you have never been married, no kids and don’t want to get married,” Anna was eyeing him suspiciously.
“That’s correct,” he nodded to her and crossed his arms around his chest. The way the sun was bouncing off his face, and tanned skin, god he was so hot.
“What’s the deal with that?” She pressed and now I was starting to feel uncomfortable. And you could tell he was too in the way he shifted.
“Well if you must know,” he started. Oh s**t, he’s gonna tell us, I’m so glad she asked, “there was someone, and she almost took me for everything.” He sighed.
“f*****g b***h,” Anna scoffed. I let out a laugh.
Her f*****g loss.
