Mission: Act 1

45th Survivors Infantry Unit

"You sure you got enough there?"

Said Peter as the medical stuff takes in a blood sample of him in one of the rooms. The nurses were quiet but work efficiently and timely. He has his blood sample named and transported to Doctor's Office.

"I'm just gonna wait here for a little while."

Peter said to the female nurse. She nodded and open the curtains on the cubicle they are in.

There he saw Alex and Mike being put to a physical test. They have their bodies strap up with some cables connected to their hearts and facemasks with a tube to measure their breathing. They were running on the treadmill as the medical staff looks at the monitor for evaluation.

Then on the other side. He saw Sara's injured foot getting bandaged and being injected with some morphine. She then gave medicine to avoid further inflammation and for fast recovery.

"Do you need a wheelchair ma'am?

The male nurse asked Sara. He was wearing a full-body chemical suit with an oxygen tank on his back. He throws a tablet on the floor, then it transforms into a mind-controlled wheelchair.

" Thanks but I'm good "

Sara lightly smiles and gently denies the offer. The nurse then kicks the button on the lower right and the wheelchair suddenly tossed in the air and go back into its capsule form.

"Looks like we're good to go. If you will follow me."

The doctor then escorts the team into Captain Rick's office.

When they got there. The team saw him browsing a ton of reports and putting coordinates on the map. Peter then look at the big map of the Philippines with some push pins with different colors. When he was about to ask about it, Captain Rick spoke.

"As you can see fellas, this is what we only got left"

Then give the team to take a closer look.

"The colors on the push pins have their own meanings."

"Blue means a place has still survivors in it but they depleted all of their resources and is now requesting for extraction."

"Yellow means a place to get resources like water, food, scraps, parts. Anything valuable.

" Purple is the places where an airdrop location will be located. We request airdrops 4 times a week and the government gave us coordinates on where to pick them up.

" Black is for those groups of survivors outside the government's jurisdiction. They have hacked access to the coordinates as well so they will know also where to get supplies. As for these guys they are literally a pain in the ass. We have to get there early and secure the airdrops before they do. "

" Green, like our coordinates are the military zones. Safe zone for humans to live at repopulated. As you can see, the Philippines has only 12 safe zones left."

"And lastly, the red ones. For those places being overrun by infected individuals."

Peter then look at their coordinates before. It was now red.

"Did you know before, that were requesting for extraction?"

Peter asks Captain Rick while he clenches his fist hard and bowed down. You can hear a hint of rage in his voice. The three other sense Peter's rage oozing out of his body. Alex and Mike looked at each other and decided to move before Peter do something to Captain Rick.

"Yes, we are very much aware of your situation for a while now. We saw how your place gets blown up. I would not expect any survivors from that"

Peter loses control of himself after hearing this. His mind was blank but his memories about Jane's last moment with him are still clear on his mind.

"THEN WHY THE f**k DID YOU NOT MOVE TO RESCUE US?!! TELL ME YOU SON OF A b***h!!!!!!! WHYY???"

Peter shrieked and suddenly lunged over Captain Rick, shoving his collar rough. The two boys immediately restraint Peter.

"As much as we wanna help you guys. We have no other choice but to transmit your distress signal to the nearest green zone in your area. That's in Quezon City Outpost 43. We're so far away from you at that time. "

Captain Rick answered while fixing his collar. Alex and Mike manage to get Peter away from Captain Rick.

" If you were there guys, nobody in my family and friends will die!!! Nobody!"

Peter's vision starts to blur as the tears spill on the ground. He's breathing heavily. The two boys also looked down onto the floor and went silent. Sara's tear began to show and she sits down on the chair while looking away from the window.

Captain Rick get his composure back and speak into the team.

" I was Task to extract the President put of Malacanang Palace. My whole team consisting of my colleagues and my own son. was sent for the Mission. And I lost all of them, including the President. So I know who are you feeling right now."

Captain Rick sits on his chair.

" But you gotta stay strong after all of that. You cannot change the past. It already happened. You can't save them anymore. But I swear that time that I will not allow any more human deaths in the hands of the infected. I know you want them too."

Captain Rick said to the team. The group now looks at him in the eye and the tension on the room starts to fade.

" Sorry man. I couldn't control my emotions," said Peter. After hearing Captain Rick's story, he starts to feel the guilt. He relaxes his breathing and his fist

" I'm not alone."

Peter said to himself. The others get their composures back as well and start to focus on the matters at hand.

" It's fine. Let's get back to the matters at hand. " replied by Captain Rick

"So why did you show us that?" asked Alex.

"Because I want you guys to extract the group of survivors in areas of Lipa." Captain Rick replied.

"You just have mad skills. Don't worry you're not going there alone. Youll be joined by two more members. And you're gonna meet them up this afternoon."
