The party was outside the school, so we took the bus outside the school and arrived at the party venue after what seemed like an eternity. It's a two-story house with overgrown spines strewn about. Loud music and voices can be heard from the street, indicating that it will be a long night.
"How many people will there be inside?" Ella inquired. Some people were standing outside with red cups, and everyone seemed to be with someone.
“Imagine coming here by yourself.” Stephanie said jokingly.
You'll most likely cry on your way home. I expected it to be a freshers' party where we could introduce ourselves and get to know each other's names and departments, but it was quite the opposite, they all seem to know each other.
We all entered into the house, and my jaw dropped just seeing how different people were kissing, some of them even eating each other's faces; it was like a whole different world.
Welcome to Fresher's night, a girl said as she handed each of us a red cup. I tried to tell her I was fine and didn't need it, but she quickly left. As we walked around the house, I set the red cup on the counter.
Hello, sweetheart. Ella tapped a girl who was passing us. The girl exclaimed, "Omg, you came." She introduced herself to us and her name is Amy and she is in Ella department.
"My friends are over there," she said, pointing to a group of guys and girls, and before we knew it, Ella had left us and gone with her friend, I guess they're all course-mates.
Will Stephanie and Victoria abandon me if they see someone they recognise? I thought to myself.
“Elena, are you not drinking?" Victoria asked me.
“Oh I am good, I said.”
"Come on, this is a party, have some fun!"
She went over to the counter and returned with drinks for me and Stephanie. I had no choice but to drink it, and because it was only a small glass, I decided to pour it all into my mouth and swallow it. I wasn't prepared, and my chest burned and I felt like vomiting. I didn't want to embarrass myself, so I simply told Stephanie and Victoria I was coming and I walked off, looking for the restroom.
As I walked around the house, I felt like I was going to puke at any moment. I asked a girl for the location of the bathroom, and she said I should go upstairs because the restroom downstairs was all occupied.
I ran upstairs holding the puke in. Then I stumbled into someone and his phone almost dropped luckily he caught it .
“ What the f**k,” he said.
I slowly looked up, I was kind of scared none of my friends were with me. He had this stern look on his face, he is a very good looking dark shinned guy and looked kind of familiar.
“I am sorry,” I said.
A girl approached him and placed her hands on his arm, calling him "babe." He rolled his eyes and pulled her hands away. Her cheeks turned red she looked embarrassed.
She looked at me rudely, I don’t even know who she is. I shake my head, the urge to vomit returned, so I just walked past them and continued looking for the bathroom.
I rinsed my mouth and came out of the restroom after puking. I went downstairs and I started searching for “Steph and Vicky”, since we were all friends now they said they preferred being called their nickname. I finally saw them and began walking towards them.
“Ace Nation guys are here.” A girl said. Hearing that name made my stomach turn.
"I heard they're upstairs, should we go see them? I'm curious to see how they look in real life, especially Chris, he is so handsome." She said blushing badly like she was a 12 years old child that just got a Barbie doll.
“Let's go,” the other girl said. I shaked my head as I walked past them as I went to meet Steph and Vicky.
“Have you heard of the Ace nation boys? Steph asked me immediately.
“Why are you asking?” I said unsure of what to say.
“Everyone has been talking about them, I heard they are upstairs. I'd like to see them let’s go upstairs.
“Oh, please not you guys too.” I said.
“Why?” Vicky asked. We just want to see them because, based on what everyone is saying about them, they must be really so fine.
Are you following us? They asked me.
“No, I will wait for you guys here. They both left me as they rushed upstairs.
I went outside the party because I was the only one standing alone. I should not have gone to this party. I pulled out my phone and texted Princewill.
*Do you still want me to come to your school and see you?* I sent him the message and waited for his response even though I wasn't sure about going yet, but I knew he'd respond as soon as he saw it. I looked around and noticed that no one seemed to be in their right mind; they were all drunk and stumbling over their feet. College said it would be fun, but this isn't even close to being fun.
*Why not? I really miss you; when would you like to come?* I smiled at the message.
A girl ran outside, crying, and her friend came to meet her; she looked familiar. Oh, I remember her; she was the girl with the guy who was looking at me as if I wanted to steal her boyfriend.
“What's the matter, why are you crying? Her friend inquired.
"Chris just broke with me, he had the audacity to break up with me in front of his friends," she said crying.
“Stop crying, you obviously don't want more people to know about this,” he really did smash and pass like the f**k is wrong with those dudes.
"Those Ace Nation guys really need to stop playing these games because Karma will definitely catch up with them someday."
"Check out his i********:, he just posted Emily," said her friend.
"I knew that b***h had her eye on him," she said as she walked back inside and screamed, breaking something.
This is the part where everyone leaves, I guess, and if they don't, I'm leaving. I sent messages to the group chat Steph set up for us, asking if they were ready to leave the party now, but no one responded.
I decided to return inside, and the downstairs was almost empty; the only people here were those who were too drunk or passed out.
I couldn't get past the people laughing and videotaping in the hallway, but I could still hear the girl screaming and breaking things while everyone watched her.
Everything was just too much for me, so I decided to leave. I was afraid of walking down the street alone, but luckily for me, a guy came out and didn't appear to be drunk, so I asked him if he was also leaving the party. He said yes, and we both started walking to the bus-top.
"Did you come to the party by yourself?" He asked me.
“No, I came with my roommates, and they went upstairs, and I can’t find them again.”
"Oh, I came alone I shouldn’t have," he said smiling.
“What is your name though? Mine is Peter.”
"Elena," I said.
As we talked more, I found out we were in the same department and was also a new student.
We exchanged contacts, and he made sure I was in the shuttle heading into the school before waving and leaving. I wish I had met him earlier in the party he seemed so nice.
When I got to my dorm room, I took a shower, and called Princewill, and we agreed that I would come over next week Tuesday.
