Until my last howl

Chapter 9 - My new room

I got such a heart attack from that sound but calmed down quickly when I realized it was just a balloon that had popped...

There was a rolled up paper laying on the floor that had popped out of the balloon, I picked it up, unrolled it and it read: "Welcome home luna, feel free to decorate your room however you deem necessary."

I looked around me, the room was huge but it was completely empty... No bed, no bedside table, nothing! Just a lonely looking fireplace in the corner of the room and a huge window but with not a single curtain...

There were 2 doors on the one end of the room, I opened the left door and discovered that it was a huge closet with tons of space for clothes. I opened the right door and it was a grand bathroom. There was a huge corner bath, a giant open shower, basin and a toilet with plenty of space to pack bathroom accessories.

Might as well use the bathroom as I am here, I said to myself.

"Knock, knock" I heard faint knocking on the bedroom door and I slowly opened it. Charles was standing there with a tray and next to him was a frail, old looking woman. She had frizzy grey hair and a small stature with green eyes that looked almost like Charles' eyes.

"Please come in" I said as I held the door open and moved out of the way for them to step in.

"I brought you breakfast" said Charles.

I was so hungry that I grabbed the tray, sat down on the floor and started eating. Pancakes with syrup, yummy!

Charles sat down infront of me as I was eating and he gestured for the old woman to do the same.

I felt a bit rude but I couldn't help it, I was hungry and I'll be in a much better mood once my stomach is full!

The both of them sat quietly, not saying a single word, just watching me which made me feel a bit uncomfortable as I swallowed the last bit of my pancake.

I set the tray aside and thanked Charles for the lovely breakfast.

"It's a pleasure my princess" He said taking my hand.

My eyes grew large as I looked at him and looked at the old woman.

"Oh don't worry" Charles said.

"How can I not worry?" I asked.

Charles took a deep breath and answered my question. "Rose, this is Martha, she will take good care of you, also she is my mother" he said gently patting her hand.

"Your mother?" I asked with concern.

Of which Martha spoke up. "Yes luna, I am his mother, when he was just a little boy, the alpha killed his father and took the both of us hostage."

"That's terrible" I said with tears in eyes.

"Don't cry princess, it's oky, we going to be oky." said Charles with a calm soothing voice.

"Charles told me that you are his mate and rather special" said Martha in her soft voice.

"Yes I am but the alpha doesn't know." I responded.

"He never will" she said. "The alpha doesn't even know that Charles is my son."

"How is that possible?" I asked her.

"We kept it a secret and never told anybody" she said.

Charles spoke up, "Every time the alpha gets a mate, I always get my mother to serve them as I know she will take good care of them."

"She will take good care of you too" he said while caressing my hand.

"Don't treat me like Charles' mother though, treat me as your servant" she said. "I am here to serve you and if the alpha finds out about anything else, there will be severe consequences."

"I understand" I told her very sincerely.

"If there is anything I can get you, don't hesitate just to call my name" she said politely.

"I will, thank you" was my response with a smile.

She stood up off of the floor, greeted us both and said she had a few things to do and needed to organize her room.

I thanked her one last time as I walked with her to the door, I then turned around and faced Charles who was just standing there and staring at me.

"Everything oky?" I asked him.

"Yes everything is just fine princess, I just never realized how incredibly beautiful you are." He answered with a smile which made me blush.

I walked toward my window, I wanted to see what type of view I had, Charles came to stand next to me holding my hand.

My room was quite high from the ground but it had a fantastic view of the mountains and forest in the distance.

Charles spoke up after a moment of silence and said "When the day comes, we will escape through the forest, it's almost impossible to find someone if they dissappear through there."

"I can't wait for that day to come" I told him with excitement in my voice.

"I think we really need to go get you some furniture in the meantime" He said while looking around my room.

"Where will I get furniture from?" I asked him.

"Oh that's easy" He said, "I know of all the shopping places within the grounds of the castle."

"Will you take me?" I asked him.

"Ofcourse my princess" was his reply.

We started walking out of the room when I realized that I didn't have clothes either or any toiletries, curtains, a couch, bedding, nothing. I didn't even have any money to purchase anything.

I looked at him with concern in my face and asked, "how will I afford anything? I don't have any money."

"You don't have to worry about that princess, I have the alphas card right here." He said while holding up a shiny gold card.

"The alpha insisted that I take you to go get anything that your little heart desires, so no need to worry my princess." He said with such a sweet voice.

"Oky" was my response as I closed my bedroom door and we headed down the stairs...
