"Miss Shen Ni...."
It was Shen Ni's turn and Mo Tingting wished her good luck. Shen Ni quickly grabbed her bag and followed the other candidates who were also leaving the auditorium. Shen Ni walked along the hallway and it was not hard to find the location of the interview. She stood in front of the room and checked that it was the right room before knocking softly but firmly on the door a few times.
"Come in", a voice called out to her from inside the room.
Slowly, she opened the door and entered the room. The room was much longer than she had imagined and seemed to be a meeting room of some sort with a long mahogany table. Four sat on the other side of the table facing her, three men and a woman. hen she saw the face of the man sitting in the middle of the interviewer panel, her whole body froze and her mouth dropped open in shock.
What is he doing her? Is he an employee here? Why did the man called him boss yesterday? Or is he the boss? She blinked rapidly as she tried to clear away her shock. There, he was sitting in the middle of the interviewers was the man she met yesterday. What a funny coincidence....Why did he not say anything when he dropped me off this morning?
"Have a seat", he said as he motioned for Shen Ni to sit down.
His formal tone somehow disappointed her. After returning from her shock, Shen Ni was somehow able to force a body to walk forward. She sat down on the chair and said polite greetings to the four interviewers. The middle aged woman on the right was dressed in a stylish suit and her hair was pulled up in a bun. Her lips were a dark maroon that matched her earrings and necklace. She eluded a sense of superiority and experience.
The man on the left was slightly younger than the woman and just as well dressed. He wore silver rimmed glasses and had a compassionate look in his eyes. It was clear that the company took the interview seriously from the vibe she was getting from the panelists.
"Pleas start by introducing yourself", the man said.
Shen Ni introduced herself and walked them through her resume. Shen Ni was a new graduate without any working experience but her grade from the university were very good. She was sure that every other candidate that passed the written interview, so if she is unable to distinguish herself here then....
After introducing herself, the woman and the two men took turns asking questions related to her leadership skill, team work and future plans. The questions were standard and she answered smoothly as planned. She tried to answer the questions quickly and honestly with examples from her past experiences to support her point.
"You studied abroad?", Mo Yesi asked suddenly.
"Yes, in the US", she answered.
"That's why she knows Mo Ting", he thought.
"Why did you apply to this company when there are many others in the US?",he asked again. Shen Ni sat up straighter when the man sitting in the middle asked his question. The question was unexpected, but she knew the answer without thinking.
"The reason why I have chosen to apply to this company is because I have something to do in China and this is the best company....", she said passionately. Unlike the uneasiness she was feeling inside, her voice came out determined. She started telling the interviewers the story behind her decision.

"I had no choice but to come to China and had to apply for a job that would bring money. I was attracted to this company since I was a child because my father sees this company as the best and talked about it every day and I was determined to work in this company even if I studied abroad", Shen Ni said.
"Is that you reason..?", the middle aged woman asked with a smile that was not a smile.
"Don't you think your reason is a lousy one?", Mo Yesi asked bluntly.
"Ummm....I don't think it is", she said.
The man didn't say anything and the interviewers turned to look at him tapping his finger on the table.
"Okay"' he laughed.
She knew it. This guy was too arrogant. Isn't it normal to like a company? He even questioned her character. Who was the one sleeping around with different ladies? She wanted to ask him all those questions but she held her tongue.
"Well, your story isn't convincing enough to make you join the company but since you scored well in the written interview...", the woman said as she shot her a pitiful glance.
"That would at least push her score and make her worthy of joining the company", Mo Yesi said with a disgusting look. He was still angry at what she said about packing out in the morning, he felt that she was ungrateful and takes advantage of people when she needed help, completing forgetting that he was the one that offered to help.
Shen Ni was still angry about Jiaxu and shouted at Mo Yesi, "Yesi, you scum!"
The other interviewers and Ren Yan who was about to enter almost forgot to breathe.
"This lady is so interesting. She even has the gut to talk to boss like that....", the man beside Mo Yesi thought.
"Boss is really a scum but why does it sound scary to hear the lady say it...", the middle aged lady sighed
Ren Yan forgot to close the door and suddenly felt her chill down his spine.
"Haaaa. What did I do wrong?", he muttered, shivering.
The clock rang and Shen Ni was happy.
"You can leave now", Mo Yesi said to Shen Ni with a meaningful gaze.
Thankfully, the topic was dropped and Ren Yan could finally breathe. After exchanging a few more words, Shen Ni left the office with a snort
