When we got home, a distraught Laura was the first person I saw.
"Ah, you rescued her!" Laura shouted, then attacking a very bewildered Natalia with a hug.
"I am sorry. I should not have left you alone. I shouldn't have gone shopping with you at all. I'm solely to blame."
I rolled my eyes and moved to the bar to get a drink for myself. The two women could be heard talking softly and comforting one another. I didn't blame Laura. We couldn't have predicted that Lucas would have abducted Natalia.
"Alessandro! This time, don't you dare punish Natalia." Laura yelled at me. I was startled and turned around.
"Laura," I said, reassuring her. "Why are you here?"
"I was worried about Natalia. When I learned about her kidnapping, how was I supposed to relax at home?"
