The only thing I desired more than anything else in the world was to dash over to Alessandro and tell him everything. He deserved the truth. But I knew in my heart that I couldn't do it. Richard had John. He was crazy, and dangerous in every way. I was the one thing that was keeping John alive. The only thing that was holding him back. As long as Richard thought I was cooperating, John would be safe. But then Alessandro would be in danger, I couldn't lose him.
When I got back, Alessandro wasn't there yet. I went and showered. As I wrapped the robe more securely over my body, I found that it helped me relax. When I got back to the bedroom, it was pitch black in there.
His voice came from the bed and had a throaty, deep, and masculine drawl. "I see that you are back," he said.
