Gray’s POV “You sure you don’t want to talk about it?” We’ve been at the library for almost three hours, but we haven’t gotten much accomplished. We spent the first hour arguing over which schools we should even bother applying to, the second hour typing out very weak essays and even weaker short answer responses, and the third hour discussing the fact that said essays were, in fact, very weak. “About what?” she asks distractedly as she backspaces what appears to be her entire NYU essay and starts typing out something new. “About yesterday.” I’m referring to her session with Kai’s mom, of course. I texted her yesterday evening to see how it went, praying she had actually gone. It went, she replied. Nothing more. “There’s nothing to say,” she says stiffly, not looking me in the eye
