Chapter 4
The Rose Hollow Sheriff’s Station was rather quiet, considering it was the middle of the day. Jeremy Pike was seated at his desk and Becky waved to him. He smiled.
“What are you doing here?” Jeremy asked.
“I came to speak to your boss,” Becky said. Truthfully, she was very nervous about it. She wasn’t sure what she would do or say, and the walk from her store to the Sheriff’s station had done nothing to ease her fears.
“About what?” Jeremy asked.
“Just...something,” Becky said. “Liam here?”
“He’s in there right now,” Jeremy said. Becky raised an eyebrow.
“About what?” She asked.
“Just...something,” Jeremy said in her exact tone and inflection. Becky rolled her eyes and he broke into a grin.
