Shay's Point of View
"We need to get you to the closest safe room, the one near the hospital. I don't think we'll make it to the packhouse. They have already made it into the packland. Mike says they are everywhere."
Damien says as we continue to run, we change our course, now heading to the hospital instead.
"I'm sorry for dragging you out here. I should've just chosen one of the gardens."
I say a little winded from the running and I start to slow down, as my breathing becomes increasingly labored. Damien shakes his head as he slows down too and we stop. I try to take a few deep breaths.
"I knew we shouldn't have come here, but I allowed you to convince me. This is on me. I should have known better. Are you okay?"
He asks, looking at me worriedly, and I nod my head as I still try
