The silver wound isn't healing. Three weeks since Callum stabbed me. The infection's spreading. Poison working through my system.
Sarah, the pack medic, examines it daily. Today she looks worried.
"The infection's worse. Silver poisoning is affecting your organs. You need hospital. Specialist treatment."
"No hospitals. Treat it here."
"I'm doing everything I can. But this is beyond my expertise. The silver's in your bloodstream. It's killing you slowly." Sarah's voice is clinical. "Without aggressive treatment, you have maybe two months. Then organ failure."
"Two months is enough. I'll deal with Callum by then."
Sarah leaves. I'm alone with my infection and my paranoia.
