Time: Callum's Return
Callum's been gone for six hours. I'm treating wounded wolves when Sophie bursts in.
"Callum's back. And people are asking questions."
"What kind of questions?"
"Where he was. Who he met with. Why he was in Kensington." Sophie lowers her voice. "Marcus saw him entering a mansion. Vampire mansion. People think he's cutting deals."
I drop what I'm doing and head to the main room. The crew is gathered. Twenty wolves. All looking suspicious. All waiting for explanations.
Callum's standing in the center. He looks exhausted. Haunted. Like he's been through something difficult.
Marcus speaks first. "Where were you?"
"Meeting someone. About shelter business."
"Shelter business in a vampire mansion? In Kensington?" Marcus
