Clara’s POV
Cross country day is kind of the biggest part of Badminton. The jumps are so massive and challenging that a lot of horses don’t make it round, and then the whole thing is against the clock so there are time penalties at stake.
I barely slept from nerves but the sound of Johannes sleeping peacefully beside me was soothing, I was glad he was managing to rest. Amazingly when my alarm went Johannes slept through that aswell and me and Sam managed to get the horses ready before waking him for breakfast; I don’t think I’d sleep for at least the week before if I ever had to do something like this.
‘I forgot to ask about the dressage scores yesterday Sam’ Johannes said at breakfast. I was too nervous to eat but was loading up on coffee to make up for the alack of sleep.
