We meet again

Clara’s POV I woke up on Gia’s sofa. My head felt like I’d been banging it into a brick wall. But then the memories of last night came creeping back in too, I groaned out loud- I can’t believe how pathetic I’d been, if a guy had done that to me when I hadn’t been drinking I would have shouted the roof off! And not going to the police just because I was underage… what if he does it again to some other drunk girl… and now its hours later and even if I did call the police what now… me and my friends would all get caught… my sister could get in trouble… and the creep will be long gone. ‘Clara?’- Gia had come in the room without me noticing, ‘You ok?’ she asked tentatively. All my guilt came rushing out, how stupid I was and what I should have done. ‘Honestly girl stop beating yourself up over some absolute creep,’ she pouted, ‘and besides that sexy guy you were with said he’d handle it all, he said to tell you not to worry and give you this’. She slipped me a business card for a Mr J Vahner. ‘He said call if you want or need anything’. I blushed again, then looked at the clock- F***. My sister would be here in 10 minutes to pick me up for my waitressing shift at our parents pub. I wanted to stay here and hide from the word with my best friend, but Sundays were always crazy busy and no one would be able to cover me this late notice. I sighed and put my head in my hands. ‘I have to go…’ I said, ‘but I think I’ll go to the police tomorrow…. Would you come with me?’ ‘Of course! But ring him first, he seemed like he was handling it with the club. And don’t stress, you did nothing wrong’. I didn’t have time to argue as my sister beeped the car horn outside so I just awkwardly hugged her and left. I’m not quite sure how I managed to get through the shift without throwing up, but we were so busy that at least I couldn’t make myself ill worrying about what had happened! I managed to put on a face so no one seemed to suspect anything was up but by 4pm and closing time had come round I was ready for bed. As I was mopping the kitchen floor my dad came in; ‘There’s someone here to see you in the carpark if you’re done?’ He had a mischievous grin on his face… I wasn’t really in the mood for anything, let alone a mystery visitor, but the floor was gleaming so I couldn’t really argue. I headed round the back, too tired to wonder why my dad looked so smug, and there in the middle of the carpark was the cute guy from last night on a massive horse. My mouth literally dropped open. He was chatting to my dad but also stopped suddenly when he saw me. We were both staring silently at each other, but luckily my dad is almost completely tactless. ‘There you are, this young man came to talk to you about the yard at the end of the road. I know how disappointed you were when Jane moved away with her horses, and we still aren’t going to talk about getting you one of your own! But this young man in moving some of his to the yard and was wondering if you might like to help out like you used to with Jane. I’ll tell your mother you’ll be late for lunch so you can head up and have a chat now. I have to go lock up, see you later.’ And with that he left, utterly unaware of the turmoil I was in.
