THIRD PERSON POV
25 JAN 2016
CLASS 5-1
SEOUL MEDICAL HIGH SCHOOL
"Good morning everyone." A female teacher in her early 30's greeted cheerfully once she stepped inside the classroom.
"Respect, bow!" The class rep shouted.
Then, they greeted the teacher and sit down on their own seat when the female teacher gestures for them to sit.
"So today, we'll learn about a myth where a human girl named Miyoung trapped in a myth world. This myth became the most popular myth in romance because she fall in love with a fierce abnormal guy." Mrs Hwang introduced the myth and Miyoung already rolled her eyes.
"This will be a boring day ahead.." Miyoung said in low tone and sighed.
"Hey, why did the myth have your name in it?" Aeri pointed out jokingly as she let out soft giggles.
"Stop saying ridiculous thing, will you?" Miyoung scowled as she smacked her face lightly.
"Hey!" Aeri exclaimed angrily but then chuckled.
Miyoung and her friends were busily chatting in the class while Mrs Hwang was blabbering about the same myth and wrote some notes on the whiteboard.
"The girl was never found and had been told to be dead after 25 years of her disappearance right after they lost track of her at one night. She was last seen at the cliff and after that-" Mrs Hwang paused when she noticed Miyoung and her friends has been talking to each other while she was teaching in front.
Suddenly, a whiteboard marker flew across the classroom and hit perfectly on Miyoung's forehead.
Miyoung groaned and looked angrily at the person who threw the marker to her.
She averted her gaze when she realised it was Mrs Hwang.
"Kim Miyoung! You failed for History and now you’re still talking and not focusing on the lecture?!" Mrs Hwang asked sternly with her hands on her hips.
Miyoung could imagine, seeing a puff of angry smoke, out from the teacher's nose, just like a dragon.
"Do you hate History that much?!" Mrs Hwang continue asking.
"I love History but I don't like and I don't believe in Mythology.." Miyoung told.
"History and Myth are the same." Mrs Hwang raise her voice.
"No, Myth was about some ridiculous monsters that lives around us which never existed at the first place." Miyoung crossed her arms.
"You never know whether Myth are true or false.. It might happened during the past." Mrs Hwang said, refused to back down.
"Exactly, if myth did happen, why didn't the monsters showed up now? Do they just vanish into a thin puff of air?" Miyoung fired back.
"I believe the fierce beast wouldn't hide themselves like a coward." Miyoung added with a smirk when she knew she won this argument.
Mrs Hwang cleared her throat in defeat as Miyoung smile proudly.
"Class, copy the notes now!" Mrs Hwang said sternly and turns to the whiteboard.
***
The bells rang and before Miyoung could get out from the classroom with her friends, her girl classmate named Nari stopped her.
"Yes, Nari?" Miyoung asked.
"Principal Thomas wanted to see you in his office now." Nari told.
"Thank you for informing me." Miyoung replied and Nari left after she flashed a sweet smile to her.
"You guys should go to the cafeteria first. I'll go meet the principal for awhile." Miyoung said to her friends and they nodded in response.
Miyoung walked to the principal room which is located at 1st floor then knocked on the door once.
"Come in." A soft, gentle voice said from the room.
Miyoung twisted the doorknob and get into the room.
"Please sit, Ms Kim." Mr Thomas, the principal of Seoul Medical High School offered.
Miyoung sat on a chair, facing Mr Thomas.
"Is there anything that I could help you, Mr Thomas?" Miyoung asked.
She's a bit scared and nervous of Mr Thomas even though she know Mr Thomas is the kindest old man that she knew.
"I heard that you're disrespecting Mrs Hwang," Mr Thomas said, his eyes never leave Miyoung's eyes.
"Again.." He added with a force smile.
"I..It is just my opinion.." Miyoung lowered down her head.
"I know it's kind hard to believe on it when you're so stubborn and stick with your Science theory but I think it'll be no problem if you just learn and passed the exam for it." Mr Thomas said.
"I'll try.." Miyoung said, unwillingly.
"Myth might happen during the past time, you know. Just some of the people didn't have an evidence about it. And myth might just a fake creature that human create which is used to scared their children so the children will be a good person. I respect your opinion. It's just you need to score A for the subject in any way."
"I will." Miyoung shortly replied.
"I believe if you scored A in this subject,”
Miyoung rolled her eyes with a groan.
“Or at least passed the subject, you'll get full scholarship from Seoul Medical Center to continue your studies in the university." He replied.
"Okay.. I'll try just because to get the scholarship." Miyoung replied with a pout.
She needed scholarship so much.
She was in deep thoughts when Mr Thomas spoke out.
"How is your brother now?" Mr Thomas asked, out of blue.
Miyoung starts to felt familiar pain in her broken heart.
Mr Thomas noticed the change of Miyoung's mood instantly.
"If you didn't need anything else, I want to get out, Mr Thomas." Miyoung dust off her skirt and get out from the room without having an approval from Mr Thomas.
She push the thoughts away and walk to the cafeteria. She saw a pair of hands waved towards her.
It's Aeri.
Miyoung walk towards her group and sit beside her friend, Haneul.
"What did the principal said to you?" Haejung asked.
"Disrespecting Mrs Hwang?" Miyoung said in questioning tone.
Her 4 friends giggled in response.
"You should learn to respect teacher especially History teacher, Miyoung." Jihyun giggled.
"You're the one who started the conversation, Jihyun. You're suppose to be blamed!" Miyoung glared at her.
"Pff.. Sorry not sorry." Jihyun laughed again.
"H-hi, Miyoung." A guy stand beside Miyoung, facing her.
"Hi Jay." Miyoung smiled, slightly blushed.
Jaehyun, known as Jay for short is her crush since 1st grade and seeing him flashed a charming smile to her made her heart melted.
Jay smiled shyly and rubbed his nape using one of his hand when he noticed she was staring at him.
"I found your book on the floor, right in front of your locker." Jay handed a book to her.
Miyoung gritted her teeth in annoyance when the book is the History textbook that she holds grudges at it.
She immediately replaced her scowl with a smile.
"Thanks, Jay." Miyoung smiled.
"Welcome there!" Jay grinned and suddenly someone popped out right behind Jay.
It's Miyoung best boy friend who acts like a brat towards her.
Take a note. It's her boy - friend. Not boyfriend. Okay, let's just call him guy friend.
They have known each other since they're baby and they love to have cat fights all over the day.
It's none other than Kang Minhyuk.
The school heartthrob.
"Hi, babe!" Minhyuk said to Miyoung with his flirty voice.
"Gross." Miyoung's face scrunched.
"Who is this? Are you cheating on me?" Minhyuk asked Miyoung while looking at Jay.
"Since when I'm y—" Miyoung was cut off when Minhyuk put his finger on top of her cherry lips.
"Shhh. I know you'll not cheat on me when you already have a wonderful boyfriend, like me." Minhyuk winked before throwing a glare to Jay.
He knew that Jay was just playing with Miyoung's heart.
"O-oh.. I didn't know you already have a boyfriend, Miyoung. I guess I should go first." Jay said awkwardly. “Yeah, bye!” Minhyuk waved.
Miyoung bite Minhyuk's fingers that was on her lips right after Jay left.
"Ouch!" Minhyuk shouted and cradled his finger.
"What the hell have you just done?! You ruined our moment!" Miyoung growled.
"That's the main point. I don't want you to have a boyfriend before I got myself a girlfriend." Minhyuk laughed.
"I hate you Minhyuk!" Miyoung throw her book right on Minhyuk's chest.
"I love you too!" Minhyuk catch the book and laughed again.
