MIYOUNG POV
"Are you okay?" He asked once I stopped crying.
I slowly released my arms from him and pulls myself away from him.
"I-I'm sorry.." I sighed and stare at the ground, I don't dare myself to look into his eyes.
"Let's bring you to the doctor." He suggested and I nodded.
Everything around us were still a chaos.
I saw trees were burnt, the ground was cracked and a lot of something weird flying over the
sky then blew up but neither both of us commented anything about it.
We are simply walking together in silence with dim light lighten the forest.
I must admit that this silence was very awkward but what should I talk to him, right?
Not after he just killed a child.
"You did the right thing.." He muttered while he leads me to Dr Shin.
"I shouldn't have to kill other creature, it's wrong." I whispered.
"But it's for your safety, Miyoung. Stop blaming yourself!" He said in a louder tone which
made me flinch and look straight into his eyes.
"What about you?" I spat.
"What about me?" Sehun said in a stern voice.
"Did you kill other creature, other people for your pleasure, Sehun?" I asked in a challenging
tone.
"You don't know anything about me." Sehun gritted his teeth and bawled his fist.
"Then tell me about it." I challenged.
"Shut up! You're the same as Se Kyung, very demanding!" Sehun growled.
"Well, I'm sorry that we have the same characteristic!" I said in sarcasm.
"I think you know your way back to the school. Go find Dr Shin by yourself." Sehun said
before he left me.
What a gentleman.
Every time I talked to Sehun, it'll only leads to argument.
His action towards me just now was much better than when he was talking.
Maybe we wouldn't be in good terms at all.
Far from my right, I saw a ball of fire floating in the air.
It seems beautiful but dangerous too.
Just like Sehun.
Just like Baekhyun.
Just like EXO.
Just ignore it, Miyoung.
I turned my head and sighed deeply then walks away.
Suddenly, something fall on top of me making me stumble.
When I balanced myself, I realised it was the big, worn out leather book which used to haunt
me back in my previous, lovely high school.
I turned my head but I noticed that nobody was here, not even the ball of fire that
accompany me just now.
Just by looking at the book could made my blood runs cold.
I still hate that book.
It gave a creepy vibe to me which will make me froze whenever I found it.
However, despite my anxiousness, I still took the book and open up the book by pages.
Miyoung, the human girl was confirmed to be dead after she lost in the forest for 25 years at
one night.
I shut the book, closed and looked around me.
Miyoung.
What does it meant?
I couldn't believe it that I nearly trusting the book content.
I shouldn't believing it, right?
It's too weird.
But then I realised everything weird in this kind of world.
"Miyoung!" Someone chirped next to me.
It was Chanyeol.
"What?" I asked in monotone while I threw the book away.
Typical Miyoung.
"It was a good evening, isn't it?" Chanyeol asked with a wide grin.
Didn't he realised he just burnt a boy's dead body?
Or didn't he realised the deep scratches on my face?
"It wasn't after I met the one who ditched me in the stimulated game" I said and glared at
him.
"Hey, you would run too if it was you!" Chanyeol pouted.
"Oh yeah." I said in a mocking way and turns away.
"Why did you seems sad?" Chanyeol asked as I turns myself to face him.
"Why do you care?" I asked.
"Because Chanyeol doesn't like Miyoung sad." Chanyeol said in a tone of a 5 years old boy
who seems upset when somebody took away his candy and I scoffed.
"Shut up, you're not helping!" I growled.
Oh yes, I growled.
"Because of you seems upset, I brought someone to you as a present!" Chanyeol
exclaimed.
"Seriously, Chanyeol. People aren't property, don't treat any of them like that" I said as I put
my hands on my waist.
Somehow talking with Chanyeol making me numb from all the pain on my cheek.
"You'll loved him." Chanyeol said with a genuine smile.
"Don't say it is Jongin." I groaned.
"No, it's a cute little thing." Chanyeol said.
"Chanyeol people aren't thing!" I hissed.
"That's why it’s not a people." Chanyeol growled lowly.
"Then what is it?" I asked boredly while Chanyeol grinned.
"My red friend!" Chanyeol hollered as he turns to his back.
Red.
Red.
Red.
I flinched and back to my senses when I heard a growling noise.
"Oh he could be very fierce and intimidating." Chanyeol said as he faced me.
"Come on, Red! Come to me and meet your new friend." Chanyeol hollered as the growling
stop.
Just then, I heard something being slammed to the tree and both Chanyeol and I cringed.
"I-I think R-red isn't feeling good right n-now." I stuttered.
"Red?" Chanyeol whispered.
"Are you searching for this?" A voice said just next to my right ear which made me let out a
scream.
As I turns to my back, I saw it was Kyungsoo with a baby red fox hanging between his grip
on his hand.
Kyungsoo's hair was a mess, his shirt crumpled and I saw a few of bite marks on his hands.
His pants were torn on some parts which made he looked like he was just out from a war.
"Does that fox bite you?" Chanyeol asked.
"Yes it did and I throw him against the tree but then he become the rabid fox just bite me
everywhere." Kyungsoo said angrily and I couldn't help but to let out a chuckle.
"Did you just chuckle?" Kyungsoo growled as I turns my head away and fake a cough.
"How could this cute thing does such thing. That's nonsense, Soo." Chanyeol said.
"Don't call me Soo, C'yeol!" Kyungsoo screamed.
"Don't call me C'yeol!" Chanyeol screamed.
"At least it's better than Chendol!" Kyungsoo exclaimed.
"I don't understand what is the relation of my name with Chendol." Chanyeol glared at
Kyungsoo.
Gosh, it felt like I was looking at two of my sons who's picking at each other.
"At least Chendol is a delicious, cold dessert from Malaysia." Kyungsoo shrugged.
"It's Cendol, Kyungsoo. C-E-N-D-O-L." Chanyeol said in frustration.
"Whatever, take your baby." Kyungsoo replied as he threw the baby red fox to Chanyeol.
Chanyeol growled and Kyungsoo hissed before he left.
I wonder how they could stay in one roof.
"Aww, Red. You're safe now." Chanyeol said as he rubbed the red fox head.
The red fox purred and lowered his head as it encourage Chanyeol to rub his head.
"This is Red?" I asked.
"Yes." Chanyeol answered.
"Here's the special present for you from Himalaya." Chanyeol added as he handed the red
fox to me.
"Really, from Himalaya?" I asked in disbelief.
"Nahhh, actually, I just found him awhile ago and he seems to liked me until he followed me
until now." Chanyeol replied.
As expected from Chanyeol.
The red fox looks so cute and innocent, just what I had wanted for pets!
No one could resist the cute baby red fox!
"Are you serious it's for me?!" I asked in excitement, I'm sure Chanyeol could see my
sparkling eyes.
"Yes but if y-" Chanyeol was interrupted as I spoke out.
"Thank you, Chanyeol!" I shouted as I lunged towards Chanyeol for a big hug.
The red fox slipped away and Chanyeol stumble as I crashed my body to him.
"Woah, woah. Not in front of kid, honey." Chanyeol said teasingly and winked.
That just ruined the moment.
I glared at him as I smack his face with my palm.
"Hello little guy." I said as I crouched down next to the red fox.
I wanted to rub his head but he snapped and almost bite my hand if I didn't pull my hand just
on time.
"Don't worry, he's not good with stranger but both of you will go well." Chanyeol reassured.
He was a stranger towards Red too awhile ago ..
"Pat his head." Chanyeol ordered.
As I moved my hand, the baby red fox look at me cautiously and bared his sharp teeth to
me.
"Go on, pat his head." Chanyeol said.
"No, look at those teeth. He was going to bite my hand!" I shouted.
"It was just a toothy smile, Miyoung. Don't worry." Chanyeol shrugged.
"Are you crazy?!" I asked in disbelief and gasped when Chanyeol put my hand on top of the
baby red fox's head.
"Pat him, rub his head. Make him feel special and love by you." Chanyeol said as he moved
my hands to rub the fox's head.
"Good job." Chanyeol said before he ruffled my hair messily. I ignored him as I continue to
stare on that fox.
"What should I call you little guy?" I asked as it purred when I rub his head.
"Fox?" I asked.
"That's so original." Chanyeol commented.
"I can't think of a cute name." I sighed.
"You can think about it later, just call him Red for now." Chanyeol advised.
"Yeah..." I said and get up.
I heard soft whimper coming from Red as he look at me with his big, round eyes.
"Now, let's meet Healer Kang." Chanyeol said.
"Healer Kang?" I asked.
"We'll meet her to heal that scratches on your beautiful face" Chanyeol said.
"She's works like a doctor?" I asked.
"Of course, that's why she's called a healer. Healer could heal anything except death and
healer could make sure that there is no scar left on your cheek." Chanyeol said.
"Okay, let's meet her." I agreed as I followed him from back, hugging Red on my arms.
We went deeper into forest until I couldn't saw others who's creating chaos.
It was an eerie silent if it wasn't for the owl which made noises from the tree.
Red continue to snuggle in my arms as his eyes kept looking around him.
As I was staring at Red, I accidentally bumped onto Chanyeol's back.
"Hey!" I exclaimed.
"We are here." Chanyeol said.
I saw a cabin made of wood which looks very old.
I believe it could collapsed if Chanyeol flicked on the wooden wall.
There's also a small lake, 5 m next to the house.
If I was killed here, nobody will know because there's nothing else here except the trees,
lake and this cabin.
"Are you sure this is the house?" I whispered.
"Yes, it is. I went here when I was a kid before with my Mom and sister." He said.
"What if she didn't lives here anymore?" I asked.
"I meant look at this place." I added.
"I believe she still lives in here." Chanyeol said.
"Healer Kang, Healer Kang!" Chanyeol shouted as he knocked on the door.
"It's Chanyeol, the son of family Park." Chanyeol hollered.
Red slipped away from my hands as it run towards a tree near the lake.
"Red!" I shouted in a low tone.
I ran towards him and stopped in front of the lake.
"Red, where are you?" I whispered once I didn't found him.
I turns myself to face the lake.
I saw a reflection of myself.
I saw the two lines of deep scratches on my cheek.
While I was staring at my reflection, I saw a reflection of a guy standing next to me.
I couldn't see the face but I could clearly see the smirk on his lips.
"It was called the Lake of Truth." A voice said next to me and I could feel my heart nearly
dropped.
I turned my head immediately towards the direction of the voice as I clutched my shirt.
"W-what?" I whispered, feeling my energy draining out because I was too shocked.
"Healer Kang." Chanyeol said with a smile and run towards us.
It was a woman around late 50's that stand next to me.
Her white hair was tied into a tight and neat bun.
Overall, she looks very neat.
"Everything that reflects from the surface of the lake are the truth." Healer Kang said to me.
"Hello, Chanyeol. It's been awhile when the last time I met you. I'm shocked that you still
remember my house." Healer Kang said to Chanyeol.
"Yeah, I had wanted to visit you before but I didn't have free time." Chanyeol said.
"Didn't have free time or didn't have a reason, Chanyeol?" Healer Kang asked with a smile.
"Both." Chanyeol said as he rubbed his nape nervously.
"I heard about your family and what happen to your village." Healer Kang spoke out.
"M-my sister w-was fine." Chanyeol stuttered.
Chanyeol's eyebrows creased and he frowned.
I wonder what really happen to his family and his village.
"Good." Healer Kang said with a smile.
"Now, let's fix this thing first." Healer Kang said pointed to my injured cheek.
"H-how did you know we came for that?" I asked in nervous.
"Well, Chanyeol seems fine and you're the only one who's bleeding here. Doesn't you came
here to get the treatment from me?" She asked in sarcasm.
"O-oh..." I replied and lowered my head in embarrassment.
"Come with me, dear." She said and I followed her from back but I realised Chanyeol wasn't
following.
"Chanyeol, come here." I said.
"Oh, Chanyeol knew the rule in here. Only the one who need to get treatment will be allowed
to get in." Healer Kang said before she went inside of the house.
"It's okay, Miyoung. Just go in there and get her treatment, I'll just find your little Red that
went missing." Chanyeol said and I nodded before I turns myself and went inside of the
house.
I take a step into the house and cringed when it did a cracked sound.
"It's okay, dear. Just come in here." Healer Kang said from a room just in front of me.
I walked towards her and sat on a chair next to her when she gestured to sit.
"Now, let's make this long scratches disappeared from your beautiful face." Healer Kang
said.
"Remember, don't get out, don't run until I finish healing your scar." Healer Kang added.
"O-okay.." I nodded and gulped as well.
She hold my hands and I almost flinched when her icy hands touch my skin.
She breathe deeply before her eyes went to the back of head.
What?!
I tried to pry away my hands from her but it only made she tighten the grip.
"Sana . Sana . Adiuva me , sanare vulnera." She chanted.
"soror." She whispered. I turns panicked as I still kept trying to pulls my hands away but it
didn't work.
"soror!" She screamed before her grip loosened on me as her lips curled into a smile to a
figure behind me.
"veni , pulchra domina." A woman said and shoved her long, sharp nails to my scratches.
"Chanyeol! Chanyeol, help me!!!" I screamed in pain as I felt pairs of invisible hands pinned
me to the chair.
I shut my eyes when the pain become unbearable.
"Chanyeol!"
"Chanyeol!"
I opened my eyes again when the pain shoot throughout my body.
I screamed when I could felt my skin was torn apart but then I felt numb.
My mouth was open but I couldn't hear my voice.
I saw dark shadow of hands pinned me down but I couldn't felt it.
Then I realised I wasn't myself.
I was on bed which is weird since I sat on a chair before.
A woman in dark kept digging my face with her nails as she smiled at me.
My gaze shifted as I look at the reflection of myself above me through the mirror.
I was wearing a grey dress and the face of the girl is very similar to me, but I know it wasn't
me.
Han Se Kyung.
I saw myself screaming as I squirmed under the invisible hands.
"Help me..." I breathed out.
"Chanyeol, brought me some clean bandages" Healer Kang spoke out.
C-Chanyeol?
"Don't look into her eyes." Healer Kang added, referring to the woman in dark above me.
Within a second, Chanyeol walked into the room with a roll of white bandage on his hand.
The woman in dark looked at Chanyeol with his movements, cautiously.
My heart stopped when Chanyeol didn't listen to Healer Kang.
He look at the woman in dark straight to her eyes.
I let out a scream as my eyes widened instantly when the woman dig more deeper into my
flesh with her nails.
I jolted awake and breathe deeply when I open my eyes.
I look at my arms and touch my chest, feeling the increasing pace of my heartbeat.
This is me.
The real me.
I didn't Healer Kang anymore so I took the chance to escape from the house.
I run towards the door and dashed out.
While I was running in the forest, I bumped to a body, which resulting us to rolled down to
downhill.
I groaned as I landed on top of a well-built body.
It was none other than Park Chanyeol.
"The scar disappeared." Chanyeol said while eyeing and caressing my check.
As if he had sensing my discomfort, he faked a cough and move away.
"What happened in there?" Chanyeol asked once both of us sat up.
"I heard your screams." Chanyeol whispered.
"Then, why don't you come in and save me?" I asked in a low tone.
"I'm scared..." He answered.
"Are you scared because of what had happened between you and Se Kyung?" I blurted.
As I turns my head, I saw Red was laying on his stomach next to me and his ears perked to
listen to our conversation.
I couldn't help but to rub his head while waiting for Chanyeol's answer.
"H-how did you k-know? D-did Healer Kang told you a-about that?" Chanyeol stuttered.
No, I saw it by myself.
How should I tell that to Chanyeol?
"I-I just knew it..." I replied while Chanyeol sighed.
"It's all my fault..."
"B-but I didn't meant too..." Chanyeol said as he was shaking.
He was scared of something.
"Tell me Chanyeol, I can't help you if you didn't tell me anything." I said and patted
Chanyeol's back, hoping to give him comfort.
"I worked with Healer Kang for a few years because I'm thankful because she cured my
mother's disease."
"Se Kyung, S-she... Her face.. her face was full of scars since that day." Chanyeol said as
his eyes fills with tears and regret.
"She hated me since then. It was before she met Sehun and Junsu."
"B-but..." I stuttered.
That's not how I saw Se Kyung.
I didn't saw any scar on Se Kyung's face through my vision.
"But then she came with new looks after 3 years. She was with Sehun and Junsu was trying
to get his Luna which is her." Chanyeol said as his eyebrows creased.
"How?"
"Nobody know it but I know Se Kyung well. She was my best friend since we're kid. I know
that girl wasn't Se Kyung." Chanyeol answered.
"W-what?!"
"There's another Se Kyung."
