Ivy's Pov:
His tongue found its way into my mouth and began intertwining with mine. I tried to push him away, but instead, he wrapped my hands around his neck, pulling me closer until there was no space between us.
His kiss was hungry, almost desperate, like he needed this more than anything in the world. My heart hammered against my ribs. I could swear he heard it. My fingers curled in his hair, grabbing most of what I could of it. It seemed to have excited him because his hand slid down to my waist, gripping it firmly as he hoisted me up onto the bathroom counter.
He pulled out of the kiss, leaving my lips swollen and tingling. His eyes were clouded with lust and an intensity that made it impossible for me to look away from him. Then I realised it was his wolf manifesting, not him.
“Kieran…” I breathed out, as he leaned in again. This time his lips trailed down my jaw, it felt featherlight yet it burned with warmth at the same time. I clutched his damp hair, the strands were still slick from his shower, my mind spinning.
He broke away just enough to rest his forehead against mine, his breath felt hot and heavy. I felt his hands slide down to my waist, gripping me like I might slip away if he let go. “You drive me insane,” he rasped, tracing his fingers on my lips.
“Is that you speaking or your wolf?” I asked and he paused. Something flickered in his eyes and he pulled away from me. “I'm going to bed now.” I told him, lowering myself down from the sink.
I made my way to the bedroom, determined to crawl into bed and pretend none of that had just happened.
As I reached for the blanket, my hair tie slipped from my wrist, skittering under the bed. I groaned inwardly and knelt down, reaching down into the darkness to grab it. Just as my fingers brushed it, I heard the door creak open behind me.
“You know,” he teased, “if you wanted to seduce me, there are easier ways than sticking your ass in the air.”
Heat exploded across my face and I practically threw myself into bed, burying myself beneath the covers. I yanked a pillow and wedged it firmly between us, creating a barrier.
“I-I’m going to sleep!” I blurted, my voice muffled by the blanket. “Please, maintain that part of the bed.” I squeezed my eyes shut, praying he wouldn’t hear the way my breathing hitched.
Silence settled, but I felt the bed dip as he climbed in beside me. The mattress shifted with his weight, each of his movements sending shocks of awareness through my body.
I kept my eyes squeezed shut, feigning a deep sleep. But I felt the pillow between us being slowly pulled away, and his finger traced the curve of my cheek. His breath washed over my face as he hovered close, his touch achingly gentle.
“You really do drive me insane,” he murmured, while I stayed still, my heart hammering so loudly I feared he might hear it. His thumb brushed over my lips before he let out a long, ragged sigh.
The warmth of him shifted away, but I could feel his eyes on me, watching me as I pretended to fall asleep.

I woke to the soft light of dawn spilling across the room. For one blissful moment, I forgot everything— until I shifted and realized Kieran’s arm was draped heavily and possesively around my waist.
I froze.
“How did you get on my side of the bed?” I hissed under my breath, twisting just enough to find him smirking with his eyes still half-closed.
“Maybe you just crawled over here in your sleep,” he drawled, voice thick with sleep and amusement. “Couldn’t resist me even while unconscious, huh?”
I shoved at his chest, his heat creeping up my neck. “Oh please! And move your arm, you’re crushing me.”
“Heaven's help you I find out you touched me while I slept, pervert.” I muttered under my breath as I batted his hand away from me.
“What did you say?” He said and I swiftly slipped out of bed.
“Nothing,” I said quickly, avoiding his eyes as I stood and brushed a strand of hair from my face.
He pushed himself up on one elbow, the sheet slipping to reveal the hard lines of his chest. “I never believed you’d ever grow the courage to call me a p*****t,” he drawled, a smirk playing at the corner of his mouth. “Considering you walked in on me naked last night.”
I spun around, my cheeks burning. “You asked me to leave your clothes inside,” I hissed, my voice cracking slightly from embarrassment and I wondered when he became so cocky.
His eyes glittered with amusement. “You know what, I’m not even going to argue with you,” I snapped, grabbing my robe from the chair and storming towards the bathroom, the wooden floor creaking beneath my steps.
Just as I stepped out of the room, clutching my robe around me, I bumped straight into Kael, who was striding briskly down the hallway toward my door.
“Kael, hi!” I blurted, forcing a smile even as I felt my robe slip open. His eyes flicked to me—and then sharply away, his jaw tightening. Heat rushed up my neck as I realized my robe was untied, my thin nightdress clearly visible. My fingers fumbled clumsily to cinch it closed, while my heart pounded with mortification. I began to wish the ground would c***k open and swallow me whole.
“Hi,” he muttered flatly, clearing his throat but still not meeting my eyes. “Is Kieran in? I have a message for him.”
I reached out as if to touch his arm, but he stepped back, widening the gap between us. My chest clenched. “Are you mad at me?” I asked softly. “Please, say you’re not.”
“I’m not,” he said, but his tone was dull, and his gaze remained fixed on a spot somewhere over my shoulder. His usually amused face was devoid of any warmth and his eyes sat coldly on his face.
“I don’t believe you,” I said, my voice growing barely above a whisper.
“You did ask me to tell you I wasn’t mad at you,” he replied coolly.
“So, you are mad at me,” I pressed, the words slipping out before I could stop them.
“Look, Ivy,” he snapped, his tone edged with frustration as he finally looked at me—but only for a second. “I’m only here to get Kieran. I don’t want another lecture or...whatever this is.”
“I’m sorry,” I said quickly. In an attempt to walk away, my foot caught on the edge of the rug and I pitched forward, a yelp escaping my lips. Kael’s hands shot out, gripping my arms to steady me just as the door behind me swung open and Kieran stepped out, his eyes darkening at the sight of us tangled together in the hallway.
