I could feel Victor's urge to argue after I said, I'd be taking Stella with me. But, whatever it was he wanted to say, he suppressed it and nodded in agreement instead. I could understand him to some extent if he didn't want me to leave with her, she was his wife after all. But I didn't think that mattered at that moment, all I cared about was to see her get better.
