I had a feeling there was more to the elemental power than anyone realized. It happened while I was with my mom. I held her hand, blaming myself for not noticing her illness sooner, especially since I was a nurse. But then I saw something. I saw her the day she was first diagnosed. Strangely enough, it happened at the hospital where I worked. She must have chosen a day I wasn’t on duty.
Judith had seen her coming out of the oncology ward. She approached her, and with her nursing expertise, figured out why she was there.
At first, I thought I imagined it. I hoped it wasn’t real. But then, when Judith touched my arm after I entered the pack house, I saw it again. I saw her asking if I would be home with my mom during my time off the next day. That was when I knew it wasn’t a hallucination.
