“What do you think you are doing?” I asked, panicking at the reactions I was getting from the others. “I’m just trying to ensure a pest knows her place and does not act all high and mighty,” she said, not batting an eye, like she did something heroic. I could hear everyone whispering from the corner of my eye, and the embarrassment that washed over me was worse than the one I had after greeting them with no response. I ran out through the door, wiping tears away from my face. I was out because I needed to find Dominic, but now I was unsure of where to go or if I wanted to see him in my current state. I looked at my surroundings and noticed an abandoned stable at the edge of the street. I headed towards it so I could calm my head. I sat in a corner at the stable and started crying.
