Chapter 13 Xavier The girl looked like death warmed over, she smelled of three-day-old garbage that had fallen into a sewage ditch, and her lips were as cold as ice with dried blood from an old cut on them. But the moment I pressed my mouth to hers, determined to keep her from perishing right there in front of me, I forgot about all that. Her kiss was addictive. Heat spread across my abdomen as she became warm and pliant against me, kissing me back. Visions of large beds with soft, warm sheets filled my head. My lips parted at the same moment as hers, and our tongues touched. I groaned, feeling it in my trousers. I wanted to crawl on top of her, right there in the leaves, and press my body down against hers. But I restrained myself enough to settle for cupping her head in one palm. M
