Chapter Seventeen
Adele
The plane touched down with a gentle bump before slowing steadily along the runway.
The only sound inside the cabin was the steady hum of the engines as the aircraft taxied across the terminal.
A moment later, the pilot's voice came through the speakers.
"Welcome to Georgia. We've arrived at our destination. Please remain seated while the cabin door is opened."
Laura looked at me.
"Ready?"
I gave a small nod.
The door at the front of the aircraft opened.
Killian stepped out from the private lounge, adjusting the cuff of his shirt as he walked into the cabin.
Someone who looked familiar followed behind him.
I knew I'd seen him before.
I just couldn't remember where.
One of the attendants opened the aircraft door while another lowered the stairs.
