The Perfect Dou ZAIRE/JOZINE's The barrier kept Silky isolated while Ice prepared the spell. While I'm busy maintaining the spell so that Silky won't be able to escape, Ice started chanting the spell with the help of his staff. The magic scroll that Ice simultaneously activated is [Magic Drain], it will suck out magic from whoever is targeted by the spell, and [Crystal Seal] it will seal the target in a crystal. It sounds easy, yeah right, it would have been if we were dealing with a weakling. Silky is obviously not a weakling. He's a monster, that can speak. A strong one. Silky grew more violent, oh, by the way, I am naming him Silky because of the color and texture of his skin but I don't know his name. I did not have the time to ask, besides, I don't have the gall to do so. I mean, it could be a sensitive topic for Silky, I might anger him if I ask him. "But it does sound weird calling him Silky all the time..." I mumbled while looking at my prisoner. Ah, he's growing more violent. Darn. He grew tentacles, urgh, tentacles. Why that out of everything, why does he has to have that ability? I hate tentacles, grrrr. I glanced at my arms and sure enough, my hair are standing giving the tenta- grrrr round of applause. Silky has seven tentacles, it's colored silk-black too, and he is using it to break the barrier unstoppably while his daggers are still aiming for the same spot. What he is doing is clever, since the barrier is sphere-shaped, he is focused on dealing damage at a single location, the tentacles might be used for searching the weakest part of the barrier. He now uses three tentacles and twin daggers to attack the barrier, his efforts are showing results even though I don't like it. This sucks. I have no choice but to keep on replenishing the barrier with magic energy from my surroundings and now I have to use some from my magic base too. As much as possible I'd like not to use my magic base, oh well, I don't want to die so might as well. I gathered the magic power from my magic base, it traveled from my forehead down to my neck, to my arms, and finally to my palm until the ends of my fingers. As usual, it feels warm and tingly like I'm being massaged internally- if that's even possible. The barrier formed once again, this time, it’s five layers and has visible octagons on each layer reinforced to handle more of Silky’s rage. I glanced at Ice and he is still chanting, when I turned to Silky again, a magic circle inside the barrier and on the ground has formed, it glowed a faint light, as Ice continued to chant, the light grew brighter and brighter. “GRAAAAA!!! I WILL KILL YOU!!!” Ugh. Just that has sent tremors on the ground. Seriously, this guy is not a joke. He was violent before but it intensified when the magic circles with him inside the barrier started activating, his attacks multiplied. Each s***h of his daggers torn two layers of the barrier, the attack from his tentacles is able to break three at once. My arms started shaking while I continue to fuel the spell with magic. I couldn’t help using my magic base, thus, I can feel my magic exiting my magic base like it’s being sucked out of me. I raised my other hand because Silky’s action became vicious and relentless. “Freaking hell,” I whispered. Whenever the barrier breaks I also suffer from it because the magic I’m providing it is not only interrupted, it’s also being eaten. He can’t use his magic cancelation freely but he can still weaken magic even just by that? The hell, he is cheating! To fight using magic against someone who has the ability to cancel and weaken it, not only that, his physical prowess is not normal too! “It’s done.” Ice announced. Like me, he is also catching his breath. He took out a potion from his storage ring and drank it in one go. Good. He still has a magic recovery potion. “How much can your potion recover?” He glanced at me while taking out another bottle and started drinking it. Once done, he threw the bottle away. “About twenty percent of my magic. Why?” Twenty percent. That’s decent. He drank two so he can recover forty percent of his magic. Still… when I looked at Silky who is still rampaging inside the barrier, the thick magic energy around him lessened a bit. Like, seriously, around five percent of his magic energy is gone. It’s like we took out water from the sea just to place it in a pool. Just that. While Ice needs to continue providing the magic circles with magic, I’m maintaining the barrier too. If someone comes to Silky’s rescue, then… jeez. The possibility of our defeat is close to one hundred percent. Haha, it’s not even funny, damn. “Rou, come here.” I summoned Rou. A magic circle appeared above, there exited Rou. He descended and stand next to me. He nudges me softly using his face. Ahh… Man, I can feel myself relaxing. Is it possible that Rou can recover magic? Hoho! I hope so too! “Master, you called for me. What is your command?” Direct to the point as always. He is also cute this way and his mane is soft so it’s okay. I know I’m biased, I don’t care anyway, hoho. “Watch our back for any sneak attack. Ah, here,” I took out small stones with runes on them, these will be used for detection and concealment magic cancelation. There are two scrolls used to create an illusion and barrier. These scrolls' purposes are simple. The barrier will temporarily keep our area isolated from the outside and also creates an illusion of the usual scenery, lastly, the magic item will be for Rou to use. It’s a small crystal that compliments this situation. I explained to Rou everything that he needs to know, he also gladly accepted the task. I feel that he’s just itching for battle especially the excitement in his eyes. With Rou here, I feel relieved, still, I can’t entirely let my guard down since Silky is still not totally weakened. The process is slow and exhausting in terms of magic. Ice kept on taking out potions every ten minutes or so that’s why I handed one of my potions, it can recover fifty percent of magic power. I also took out magic stones so that we can channel the magic inside the stone and use it to fuel the barrier instead. The backlash for overconsuming magic recovery potions is not a joke, Ice can’t feel it now but once this is over I’m sure he’ll be in hellish pain. We continued weakening Silky, painstakingly and patiently, the results are showing. He is growing weak; the magic circles are also functioning well. When the seal started to grow bigger and overwhelmed Silky, we believed that it’s over. How wrong we were. Silky’s body released an intense pressure enough to create a c***k on the five-layer barriers all at once. DAMN IT!!!! I can’t let him escape, we will die for sure! I poured all the magic that I can from the surrounding magic energy even from my magic base. It’s flowing out like a gushing river from me. My legs trembled, my arms that are already sore grew weaker. I’m sweating bullets while I barely maintain the barrier. When I caught sight of the magic circles' Ice created, it has cracks too. I looked at Ice and we’re just the same, maybe he is in a worse situation than I. Shit… this doesn’t look good. Silky is pouring all he has just to break free and it’s too overwhelming for us. That old man! Why didn’t they fight this one instead?! Damn it. I have no choice. What the foooook!!! I don’t want to use this item because it’s freaking overpowered and weird too! But, when I look at Ice and myself, I’m sure we’ll both die at this rate. Death from Magic Exhaustion at that. Damn it. Like, damn it all!!! I took out the artifact that I knew could help us. [Rings of Shared Fate: Ring crafted by the ???? of ????, ???? who controls ???? and ????? of ????. This ring can increase the wearer's magic to a maximum level and produce twice the power of every spell cast.] See. It’s overpowered. It increases our magic to the fullest, but also increases the power of spells that we use. It’s an ideal item. It’s just that… [To be able to equip the item, one must use it together with the person they share an extreme desire with. Once the ring is equipped, it cannot be taken off until the Flower of Allura blossomed. The ring can react to each other once in close distance.] See? See this? IT’S FOR COUPLES!!!!!!!! Ice and I are not couples!!!!!!!! GUAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!! Phew. I have to calm down. Calm down… The two layers of barrier broke. Actually, f**k that. “ICE!!!!!!” I yelled at him. His head turned to me, although I can’t see his face I have a feeling his face doesn’t look good. He might be frowning or in pain, I think. “DO YOU WANT TO LIVE?!!!” That sounds so cliché I’m gone cringe. He paused for a moment before he nodded his head. “ME TOO!!!” Oh my god, me too. I want to live too. “HERE!!!” I handed him the silver plain ring. It looked like a wedding ring goddamn! The noise from inside the barrier Silky in is growing more ferocious. Silky is yelling at us. “WEAR IT! IT CAN INCREASE MAGIC!!!” And bind you to me! But I won’t tell him that. No way. Like, no way. He took the ring from and wore it just as I did, once we’re wearing it, the ring glowed, and the exhaustion from using magic completely disappeared. The broken barriers got repaired instantly. The magic circles that were breaking and disappearing are now back to their full function. Both the magic circles above and below Silky glowed brightly and swallowed Silky. When it completely covered him, the explosion of magic occurred along with Silky’s screams. It blasted towards us, even the barriers around him broke. I pulled Ice with him and covered us with a barrier. Several explosions followed with blinding light, the ground continued shaking. Then, it disappeared. The place fell into complete silence. My head is full of buzzing sounds but I stand up anyway. With my hand covering my eyes from the dust and violent wind, I used wind magic to scatter the dust away. When it all disappeared, there is a wide crater, the same size as the barrier I used against Silky, there is a deep crater within it. The crater is deep but clean. It looked like it was swooped by a gigantic spoon. In the middle of it is a crystal that glistened. “Haah…” We’re alive… Darn. We’re alive. I watch Ice jumped on the crater and took the crystal. When he returned, he showed me the crystal. “You want me to take it?” He nodded his head. “Why?” He did not answer. “It was you who sealed him. You take that.” I said but he just shakes his head. Huh. Why isn’t he talking? Oh well… it doesn’t look like he has plans on backing down so I simply took the crystal with Silky inside. “Thanks then.” He just nodded his head. CRACK When he was about to turn away. His mask broke and revealed the face within. My eyes widen when I saw his face, his face has the same expression too. “Y-You…” The cold wind blew softly and hit my face. It was cold but refresh— Wait, don’t tell me… With both our eyes wide, we simply stared at each other. My mind grew blank. Really. Blank. - - - - - To be continued...
