Michel Madison had, at last, stopped his flurry of questions. Alain had always hated the meaningless questions and candid platitudes, but he had been a good sport and had answered, avoiding giving too many details. The questions about his relationship with Myriam had bothered him. He wasn’t fond of confiding in strangers, especially not about his love life. Yet, he had done it anyway just because. Nothing was right; things were surreal. It destabilized Dupont, with no anchor to hold on to. So he did what he thought he had to do given the circumstances; he cooperated. There was no escape, no place to hide. He had no intentions of hiding in any of the bathrooms for the rest of the trip.
