Myriam Gagnon had hung up the phone when a colleague, with whom she had planned to have dinner this evening, asked her if she had heard from her boyfriend. She realized that he should have called her by now to advise her of his arrival. He should have landed half an hour ago and had sworn to call her as soon as his plane touched the runway. She asked for another drink, as she would obviously still be waiting. Perhaps his flight had been delayed a tad. She didn’t know which website to search for flight tracking. A colleague had told her once, but she hadn’t written it down. The waiter smiled warmly at her as he slid a glass of vodka cranberry her way. She took a sip and winced.
