Ruby arrived at Antonia's just as one of her roommates was heading out.
Antonia grabbed Ruby's hand and pulled her into what was now the master bedroom, a mess of cosmetics everywhere.
"She paid a fortune. I couldn't say no to the master with the walk-in," Antonia explained, gesturing at the clutter.
Ruby's eyes bugged out at the sight. "Damn, that's a lot of makeup!"
Antonia rolled out two storage boxes. "Had no space for these, so they're hiding out here."
She started showing Ruby the basics, picking out what they'd need for a simple look. "So, you and Bill, what's the deal? Nothing going on?"
Ruby shook her head, focusing on the makeup. "Nope. What could happen? I only have you at school. Everyone else ignores me."
Antonia gave her a look. "You're acting weird. Spill. What's up?"
