''And what hurts the most is people can go from people, you know to people you don't'' -Selena Gomez Chapter 2: Rayan picked up his knife and began poking the radio. The top shattered to pieces, but it was only a matter of time till something went wrong. There was a noise repeating itself in a pattern coming from the outside. It took them a minute to realize that they were footsteps behind the door. Rayan gasped, Annabelle pushed him and the remains of the radio into the nearest cupboard and went to open the door. She opened the door, hands shaking, palms sweating, spine chilling, but her face remained still. The mayor made himself at home. 'I located Ro; I am disappointed you haven't found him, he wasn't hiding very far.' Growled the mayor 'Oh, I am sorry I probably didn't notice,' said Annabelle with her hands trembling. 'I doubt it, I believe you have covered for Rayan Ro!' Rayan, who was overhearing the conversation from the cupboard could not believe what is being said he didn't know Annabelle was the one who had to capture him Annabelle did, but she also knew where he was from the minute his house burned down so why didn't she report him? What's in it for her? 'I am sorry I just didn't see him and after a few days of searching, I felt unwell and had to rest for a while,' explained Anabelle 'Fine, if you want to live another day then you will be the one to execute Ro,' Screamed the mayor 'Uh execute?' asked Annabelle 'Yes, you heard me, Miss Price, tomorrow evening, Rayan Ro will be no more, and I'll make sure I see it,' 'But sir, I don't think I am capable of doing so at the moment,' 'Oh, you very much are Anabelle Price,' 'Come to my tower tonight, I need you to stay there till tomorrow I no longer trust you,' 'But I—' 'NO buts, just get it done or you will be dead before Ro.' The mayor left, slamming the door behind him Annabelle waited till the coast was clear and opened the closet. Nothing was said for a solid half-hour. Rayan, who had now destroyed the radio, asked what her plans were. 'I'll go to the mayors tonight as he wants me to,' 'So, you're killing me?' wondered Rayan in an oddly calm tone 'No, I am the one who is dying,' she yelled 'What do you mean?' 'You are going to escape immediately you need to be far from Obsidian by four pm,' 'What about you?' 'I'll go to the mayors tonight and see what can be done, the next day the execution will come and you will be far gone so the mayor will then force some other soldier to do what I did to your sister to me,'' Rayan took a moment to think before he spoke. 'So, you were covering for me?' 'No, the mayor just made that up as an April fools joke!' she responded sarcastically 'Why though? What made you want to keep me alive for over a month when you were ordered to kill me?' 'Does that matter now?' 'I am sorry I misjudged you. I just didn't kno-' 'Don't be, there is only so much one can do when they have lost hope' she explained  She then said  ''You better get going, you can have any food in my fridge from my house will be burned down anyway,'' 'Well, I am not going to let you die now that I know you have been covering for me all this time. We will escape together,'' 'I know you are mad, but you aren't stupid, the mayor will have someone track me down in the next hour or so to make sure I am following orders and that's also why you must leave immediately,'' ''If I do escape, then we are both dead anyway, I haven't spent all my life climbing trees and practising kicks, I wouldn't be able to make it far,'' Cried Rayan ''I'll try to come, but is it a risk you are willing to take?''questioned Annabelle 'Yes.' Rayan clarified.
