Ruman's P.O.V:
The D-day has just begun and all the family members are busy with there work. I was not allowed to enter my room since morning and now these people want me to get ready in Ahaan's room which I hate the most.
I wore a white- crimson sherwani that made me look classy. It was already 6 pm by now and all the ladies were off to beauty parlor.
"If I am not wrong we promised the bridal side to reach by 6.30?" I asked but what reply I got was unimaginable.
"Ruman! Stop being punctual you are going to be a married man within 2 hours I guess, at least learn some husband kind of things from me!"
My dad teased me! Wow!
"With this speed, I'm sure you can only guess the time we will reach," I replied to him and everyone laughed thinking I was in a hurry to see my bride.
But to my amusement, I was actually behaving like an overexcited groom. Gosh! What's happening?
An hour passed and finally, the Divas of the house showed up. They all looked elegant beauty especially mom, Aksa, Humaira Bhabhi.
Humaira Bhabhi is the wife of my eldest cousin and I am on number 3rd. She came to my dad with a thal that had a designer cloth.
My dad picked it up and asked me to sit on a chair that was placed in the center of the room. The whole family circled around us.
He started to tie a turban using that cloth. Within 10 minutes the turban was done.
Aksa came with another thal that had 2 brooches. My dad picked one and fixed it perfectly with my turban. Aksa took back the Thal with the other brooch. To my surprise, it was my wedding day and as a tradition, in my family, every male has to wear a brooch in any case.
"Dad! I haven't worn my brooch yet!" I said looking confused.
"You must be knowing that today is your marriage and from today your wife will be the one to fix the brooch not you and in any case, if she is not there you can't wear it by yourself." Replied my grandfather in his royal tone.
For the first time, I felt what being a real prince feels like. Although my family doesn't show up as a royal family, our forefathers were the kings. And my grandfather is really particular about his rituals.
"I think it will take us 1 hour to reach their house if we go now." r****h bhai my eldest brother said.
"But it's already 7.30!" I sounded freaked out or say embarrassed to be this excited all of a sudden. An hour ago I was feeling forced up in this marriage and now suddenly I was behaving like an impatient child.
Everyone laughed at hearing my statement and I tried to avoid the situation by laughing along with them. We were there by 8.30 and I could hear all sorts of crackers bursting remarking the arrival of Barat (arrival of groom and family).
I was nervous now and I saw each one of the family members if her house coming to greet us. It had a few new faces. Her mother came to the entrance and then greeted me. She took a betel nut and moved around me in a circle which in her family ritual symbolized that no dark shadow or evil spirit could come across me.
They headed us inside and I was shocked to see the arrangement. I didn't know the girl I was marrying was the daughter of the "Rehan Khan" and now I exactly knew why my father wanted this wedding so eagerly.
We walked inside the house it was decorated beautifully with flowers, lights, candles, etc.
All these things were going straight until I saw a set up made in the hall which was used for Mehfil-e-Nikah. I looked at Ahaan and r****h bhai with a what-is-all-this-? look which was easily guessed by Shabaz her elder brother.
He looked at me and then to the Ahaan and then broke into fits of laughter.
"It was the demand of your future wife!" Shabaz replied. An unknown smile formed on my face and they termed it as blush.
"I thought she might be really very shy as she didn't even meet me before the wedding." I frowned.
"MADEEHA AND SHY!!" Shabaz started laughing out loud all the eyes turned on us and soon the twin duo joined us too.
The girls were pleasant to talk and crystal has really got a nice sense of humor. Crystin, on the other hand, is quite. She doesn't speak as much as her but is more clever in teasing than anyone else.
Finally, the guys made me sit on the deewan. The Kazi Sahab asked her mother to bring her out. All the ladies at once got up and went to bring her down.
I was getting impatient as I was already late and of course, I was not able to tolerate this teasing business of my friends at all.
Then suddenly something happened. My eyes widened as I saw her. Although her face was not visible as it was covered with a have dupatta. My heart skipped two beats when I saw that more than 10kg weight lehenga on her body. She started to walk down the stairs. My heartbeat fastened. All of a sudden I felt butterflies in my gut. A minute ago I just knew her name and now seeing her in front of me as my bride this feeling was something different.
She stammered on one of the Ladder to which I almost left my seat to support her, that deep I was in her thought. I didn't even realize when did she came and in front of me.
The rituals started and in a blink of eye, it was over. I didn't know when did I agree I was lost in her eternal beauty that was blurred by the curtains. A minute later my brother Ayaan hugged me.
"Congrats bro!" He said making me realize that I was already tagged her!
