In the morning, Boma woke up, feeling rested. Upon rolling on her side, she discovered that Donovan was not beside her on the bed.
She sat up on the bed and decided to freshen up quickly so that by the time he got back inside the room, she would be done. She was still feeling self-conscious about his presence when having to bathe or change her clothes around him. She was used to enjoying her privacy. Even if she was sharing the room with a girl, she was still self-conscious about things like that. She fondly recalled Hilda teasingly calling her a body hider.
Boma hastily climbed off the bed and listened for sounds in the bathroom. She heard nothing as she stood by the door. Then she knocked on it to confirm that no one was inside. She got no response and put the moment to good use.
