Chapter Twenty-Four An hour after I’ve locked up for the Fosters, Christopher and I head back to his office to prepare for an early-morning meeting. While he drives I throw discreet glances in his direction, watching the way the lights from the cars behind us reflect off the rear view mirror and onto his face. When he glances my way and catches me looking at him, he takes a hand off the steering wheel and gently strokes a finger across my cheek.
