Chapter Twenty-Six I step out of the car just as a soft autumn breeze rustles the leaves in the trees and teases the hem of my dress. I look down, holding the material against my thigh, and when I look up, Christopher is standing on the front porch. He’s wearing a black V-neck sweater and slim-cut gray slacks, his hands clasped in front of him.
