Chapter 33-1

1703 Words

Chapter Thirty-Three It’s been three weeks since Christopher asked for a do-over, and in those three weeks, we’ve seen each other almost every day. Late lunches at Cecelia’s, milkshakes at Foster’s, and we’ve even had dinner with Mom and Sam. Christopher has brought Shayne for Sunday brunch at Cecelia’s a couple of times. Watching the two of them together, it’s clear how much they love each other, and it’s helped me see Christopher in a whole new light. He’s genuinely happy when he’s with Shayne, and I see none of the worry or pain I saw in his eyes the night he revealed his secret to me. Today when I glance up at those green eyes, they’re filled with anxiety. Christopher, Jason, and I are seated at a conference table waiting for two additional people to arrive before our meeting begins.
