As the air around us started to lift and swirl around us, I lifted my eyes to Falyn’s. It was the first time I wondered what she thought about all of this. I was a complete stranger, but here I was, my lips pressed against her brother’s neck, my hands gripping his biceps, touching him in ways a stranger never could. Though her eyes didn’t stare back at me with any sort of annoyance or curiosity, she simply nodded at me, determined. She knew her brother in ways I didn’t, and I could see with the conviction in her eyes that while I had no idea what he was going to do, she did.
