Sage Pov Now that I knew what was going to happen, I tried to slow it down, just for a few minutes, to really take it in. I was leaving, and as ecstatic as I was about it, I was sad about what I was leaving behind. I took the things that my mother handed me, slipping the backpack on my shoulders and sliding the guitar onto my left shoulder, holding the strap tightly in my hand as I turned towards the others. They all had expressions of happiness and sadness on their faces. This wasn’t entirely goodbye, because my mother can always open the portal again and see me, but only for those ten-minute intervals.
