Chapter 23-2

1951 Words

“We don’t have to figure it all out right now,” Willa said to Sharon. “You try to get some sleep.” And not entirely sure what Liz might or might not do, she added, “And promise to call out if anything at all bothers you?” And she left, closing the door gently behind her. Moments later, there came another knock, which made Sharon think Willa had an afterthought. But it was Jonathan who let himself in, and although Liz might have still been present, neither of them saw her. “You decent?” Jonathan asked. He was wearing one of Norm’s huge tee shirts, a fan’s version of a Clippers team jersey. “Your dad a basketball fan?” Sharon asked. Indicating the shirt, Jonathan said, “I thought it was hockey. Guess I’ve got some catching up to do. You want to talk?” “Sure,” she said. “I can’t sleep.”
