Rebecca’s hand was clasped in mine as we walked out of the courtroom with our heads held high, following our victory with Sebastian’s case. We tried not to show how overjoyed we were, to prevent the media from creating a narrative.
A bunch of eyes peered in our direction, each expressing its thoughts. A lot of them were genuinely happy for Rebecca and me, while some few- Sebastian’s loyalists, held firm scrutiny of how the case went.
Ever since Rebecca and I got news of her pregnancy, I have been overprotective of her. The doctor’s words kept ringing in my head, the fact that the pregnancy was high risk, I needed to ensure she wasn’t only physically okay but mentally as well, and that includes protecting her from the media.
